Even though I'm sad that neither the US or my beloved Azurri are in the semis, I must say that the two matches we have been given are top notch.   Very excited to see how these two games play out.

And while each team deserves a ton of credit for making it this far, obviously only one team can win the cup. Having no real rooting interest, I won't be sad by any outcome (well, except Germany-Italy should always be the rightful top dog in Europe), I do think I most would like to see Holland get their first cup. Just seems right.

But again, congratulations to each of the semifinalists, and good luck to all.

Happy to see Bernard get into the team. Hope he has a big game. I don't think Bernard has played well in World Cup so far but he is very talented. I'd love to see him come good today.

I think keeping Fred in the team without Neymar there is a mistake. Easy player for the Germans to defend. I would have liked them to change shape of team without Neymar and put Hulk up front with Willian and Bernard on the wings. Oscar beneath them.

I would have liked to have seen Germany play Schurrle instead of Klose today. I think a more unorthodox frontline who are hard to mark would work well against a Brazilian back four that has no real experience together. Playing Klose will make Germany easier to defend I reckon.

I also think it would allow Ozil to play more centrally and be more decisive. Now he needs to spend more time out wide to provide balance. Schurrle could have done that and provided more opportunities to overload different areas of pitch.

Positive start from Brazil. Germany need to weather early storm. Get the crowd out of it.

Wow, pretty open game so far. Surprising.

Lot of dangerous action around both team's penalty areas.

Klose with the record, against Brazil.  Ouch.

Gonna be a tough day for the host team and their fans.  Germany looks to be on point.

Wow

Amazing tackle
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Someone I know offered to shave his head if the Germans win it all. I'm rooting for them :P
