Well since everyone else out there is throwing out their predictions and desired rosters, I figured I'd give it a shot and keep it relatively realistic.
Celtics trade: #6 pick, Jared Sullinger, Gerald Wallace, 2015 Clippers pick, 2016 Nets pick
T'Wolves trade: Kevin Love, Kevin Martin
Obviously Boston wants Love, and Love has indicated some interest in Boston. The T'Wolves get a solid young prospect in Sully, and Wallace becomes an expiring contract they could use next year. They also get a top pick in this year's draft, as well as 2 more first round picks and get to unload Kevin Martin. I think the Wolves bite on this. And for those cautious of us giving up our picks, if we're trying to win now it might be necessary. Maybe see if we can get Minny to only take one of the Clippers/Nets picks, but it's worth a shot either way. Martin would be a nice scoring piece for us.
Next:
Boston trades: Brandon Bass, Pierce Trade Exception, #17
Houston trades: Omer Asik, Francisco Garcia
I'm assuming the $10 million trade exception allows this to work, though I'm not entirely sure of the rules behind that. Anyway, Asik fits in as a defensive big for us and in return Houston gets a solid pick and a good pick and pop/ mid-range guy to put next to Howard. Garcia also gives us some nice shooting off the bench.
Let Avery Bradley walk
Boston signs Okafor for $3 million.
Boston signs Hinrich/Bayless/Harris for $2 million (one of them would take that at least)
Asik/Okafor
Love/Olynyk
Green/Vet min guy (or rest of MLE)
Martin/Garcia
Rondo/One of the backups mentioned above
Gives us a very solid, balanced team that could make a pretty deep run.
Thoughts?
