Well since everyone else out there is throwing out their predictions and desired rosters, I figured I'd give it a shot and keep it relatively realistic.

Celtics trade: #6 pick, Jared Sullinger, Gerald Wallace, 2015 Clippers pick, 2016 Nets pick

T'Wolves trade: Kevin Love, Kevin Martin

Obviously Boston wants Love, and Love has indicated some interest in Boston. The T'Wolves get a solid young prospect in Sully, and Wallace becomes an expiring contract they could use next year. They also get a top pick in this year's draft, as well as 2 more first round picks and get to unload Kevin Martin. I think the Wolves bite on this. And for those cautious of us giving up our picks, if we're trying to win now it might be necessary. Maybe see if we can get Minny to only take one of the Clippers/Nets picks, but it's worth a shot either way. Martin would be a nice scoring piece for us.

Next:

Boston trades: Brandon Bass, Pierce Trade Exception, #17

Houston trades: Omer Asik, Francisco Garcia

I'm assuming the $10 million trade exception allows this to work, though I'm not entirely sure of the rules behind that. Anyway, Asik fits in as a defensive big for us and in return Houston gets a solid pick and a good pick and pop/ mid-range guy to put next to Howard. Garcia also gives us some nice shooting off the bench.

Let Avery Bradley walk

Boston signs Okafor for $3 million.
Boston signs Hinrich/Bayless/Harris for $2 million (one of them would take that at least)

Asik/Okafor
Love/Olynyk
Green/Vet min guy (or rest of MLE)
Martin/Garcia
Rondo/One of the backups mentioned above

Gives us a very solid, balanced team that could make a pretty deep run.

Thoughts?

there is no way that Minny takes on Wallace's contract in a deal for Love.

I like the idea of signing Okafor and Hinrich though.

I really don't see why they wouldn't, it's not like they need cap space this year. Plus it becomes an expiring next year. Not to mention it becomes a valuable expiring next year and they also receive 3 first rounders

When is this happening? Too much salary for the Celtics to do it on Draft Night; they venture back into lux tax territory, which would invalidate how they got the TE in the first place.

If after Draft Night, it might work, if Houston weren't looking to clear as much cap space as possible for a major FA acquisition. Bass' salary would complicate that.

Assuming Garcia were to exercise his player option for next year, both he and Asik would just barely squeeze into the TE. Bass would not need to go. But Garcia is on such an affordable contract that it would be silly for Houston to give him up, I think.

Nope, not giving up the 17th so Huston can make room for Melo. The 17th could be better than Garcia.

I think Asik should only be considered if we run out of options. I don't like him pairing up with Love. Rather see Sanders, or Gortat.

Well because nobody wants Wallace's contract.  Unless you are going to give them an additional pick they won't do it.  Plus the Rockets don't want to take on any salary if they trade Asik because they want to try and sign another big name FA so they won't take Bass.  I would like to pick up a healthy Okafor and Hinrich but there's no way Hinrich will take 2 million.  Take a look at the team salary you've added.  It's huge...
