Bosh might very well be the second best player on the Heat this year.  Wade's injuries have really taken a toll on him.

Bosh is an easy Hall of Famer.  If he was foreign, he would be way ahead of Ginobli and Parker in that status, but because he is American he doesn't get the international credit that the foreign guys get.

So yeah, I see 7 easy Hall of Famers in this series, the 4 in Miami and 3 in San Antonio.

What? You are Bosh should get credit for playing on one Olympics team as a backup?  Ginobli gets credit for playing 7 seasons of professional basketball (until he was 25 or 26). Playing some of your prime years in international competition is worth something obviously. Parker has played in the NBA since he was  19 and his play in the Fiba/Olympics does not seem to have a big impact on his hall chances.
Bosh was on the 2002 Junior National Team, the 2006 FIBA World Championship team, as well as the 2008 Olympic National Team.

What I'm saying is that if you look at Parker and Ginobili in the NBA they aren't Hall of Famers (Parker might still get there), but if you include their international stuff it becomes easier.  Americans in general get almost no credit for the international stuff.  I think that is fairly obvious and was all I was getting at.  Now sure Bosh gets in because of his NBA stuff, not the international stuff, but Bosh is a much stronger NBA candidate than Manu or Parker, and it isn't close.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

The Hall of fame is kind of a joke in my opinion

I find it pretty funny that guys like Bosh and Manu are "Sure fire"  Hof's Not just HOF's but absolute no Brainers.

I think the bar is set pretty low. Admittedly I'm not too familiar with Baseball and Football HOF's but it usually seems like you need to be a great to get in.

Bosh should be in his prime now and I don't even know if he's a top 30 player in the league

If you don't think Ginobili is a great player I have to question how much you know about basketball.

Also, the bar is higher now than it has ever been in NBA history -- there are dozens of Hall of Fame players who absolutely would not make the cut today.

Yeah, I think Bosh will be there. I don't think it is a sure thing yet but it is probable. Especially if Bosh and LeBron stay in Miami for next 4-5 years and make another couple of runs at additional Championships.

I'd give Bosh my vote.  He's one of the more underrated players in the NBA.  If he played for the Celts, he'd be a big fan favorite.

You don't think you would be screaming at him for launching threes and never posting up? Or having games with two rebounds? I realize there are some schemes issues that make it even crazier for him in Miami, but he definitely is not a banger or big defensive presence. I will also repeat, he won 3 playoff games in 7 years in Toronto. Antoine Walker could claim he was the best player on teams that did more than that.

Antoine would have been wrong.

Possibly more wrong than Bosh saying he's the best player on the Heat's current squad.

Do you really think that's a good stat?

Robert Parish only won 5 playoff games before coming to the C?s (at age 27).

It took Reggie Miller till the age of 28 to win more than 3 playoff games.

It took Bernard King 4 different teams to win his 3rd playoff game at the age of 27 (and only won 10 in his career).

Adrian Dantley only won 4 playoff games before the age of 27 while on his 4th team.

Patrick Ewing won 1 playoff game before he was 26.

Dominique Wilkins was 26 before he won more than 3 playoff games.

Even Michael Jordan only won 5 playoff games by the age of 24.

Chris Bosh winning only 3 playoff games by the age of 25 doesn't really look that bad I think.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Chris Bosh one of the all time greats.  Certainly rolls off the tongue nicely haha.

Seriously though if you are a surefire 1st ballot HoF  you should be close to an all time great.  Not top 30 in the league in your prime

With his 9 ASG trips and two titles, he's pretty close to a lock.

Now is he any better than Jo Jo White, 2 rings, 7 ASG and a Finals MVP?

This is a fairly useless stat. Bosh's career didn't end at 25. You have to take the whole thing into perspective.

My point was to the people that say he had dominant individual numbers with the raptors, look how bad those teams were and how his career was headed if he didn't coattail LeBron.

Of the guys you mentioned we can quickly point out, that some point in their career, Jordan, Wilkins, Ewing and Miller were easily the best players on teams that made the second round of the playoffs.

Parish is actually the most interesting of the guys you mention because he was a third wheel on a number of championship teams. However, Parish was basically averaging 15-10 or better from 1978 to 1991 and was a much better defender than Bosh. It is alarming that Bosh is down to 16.5 and 6.5 and really seems to becoming a 3 point specialist in what should be his prime.

As for Bernard King, he barely made it into the hall of fame, and maybe he shouldn't be in there. However, he did have seasons where he was absolutely dominant averaging 32 points a game scored 50 in back to back games and had extenuating experiences of injuries shortening his career. Bosh has never been close to that kind of force.

Can't say I remember much about Dantley, but again seems like a player with a much higher peak than Bosh winning Rookie of the year and leading the league in scoring.

I think he is definitely an unusual case in that he died in his prime and really helped open up the NBA to foreign born players. If he had been an American player and had the exact same circumstances, he may not have even made it. The death kind of removes the possibility of discussing his career like you would other players (left to guess how his career would have progressed)

JoJo - my favorite player growing up!  Should be in!!!

Actually, I really couldn't care less who does/doesn't get into the HOF.   Not sure why it matters to fans.    The basketball  HOF is a basketball museum.  It's mission should be telling the story of basketball.  The Miami Heat of the 2010's looks like it will have one of the most successful runs in NBA history.  The story of that team should be in the HOF.

Whether Bosh gets formally 'enshrined' is about as important to me as hearing about the daily exploits of Prince William's and Princess Kate's baby.

Not trying to troll you, but if this of the same level of importance as prince William and princess kate's baby, why would you open up a thread titled "chris bosh in hall of fame" read through 3 page of discussion and then take the time to post a response? That just doesn't make any sense. For other of us here, it is a pretty interesting discussion to compare the careers of different players and what is important.
