Chris Bosh in Hall of Fame?

I have been reading articles about how many surefire future hall of famers are in this NBA series and was surprised to see that Bosh is accepted as that. I think checked out the website that estimates a players chances of making the HOF and saw Bosh was at 99%. Does this strike anyone else as insane?

The reason for me is that the guy is 30, but his numbers started really declining at age 26. He now averages 16.5 and 6.5 rebounds. You would have thought those numbers would have increased this year without Wade playing in 30 games, but they actually went down for the 5th straight year. I think if he played in the Western Conference, he wouldn't be even making the all star team the last few seasons (Duncan, griffin, love, marc gasol, aldrige, Dirk, Howard) over him right now. What are other's thoughts?

I don't think Bosh is a HOF, either. Was absolutely shocked when I saw he's been to 9 all star teams. Just goes to show the lack of big man depth we have in the East. That's why we need Kevin Love here

With the current standard for getting into the Hall, he'll be in.  Very good individual success in Toronto, great team success in Miami.  And he's still racking up All-Star appearances - has anyone ever been left out with 9 appearances? 

Might not go first-ballot but he should qualify.

He did have really good numbers in Toronto, but I don't think his teams were ever very good. He won 3 total playoff games in 7 years in Toronto. If someone is a hall of famer, don't they have to be able to least get a playoff win a year?

He has played his career perfectly to set him up to make the hall of fame, I just don't think he passes the eye test. He looks like Sam Perkins right now, who I don't believe will ever sniff the hall of fame.

If his career had continued that way, maybe so.  But he's got 58 playoff wins and counting the last 4 years (EDIT: Guess he did miss a few games in 2012, so like 54).  Sure he's been the third-best player, but third-best players for multiple championship winners almost always get in (sorry Horace Grant!).  Add that he did put up very strong individual numbers in Toronto and a 99% chance isn't far off.

...mind you I'm not happy about it.  But yeah, he's done enough.

If Miami wins again this year, he'll probably make it.  If not, I don't think he will.  Bosh hasn't exactly put up numbers or performed at a Hall of Fame level in Miami and if their "dynasty" stops at two, Bosh will be seen over time as a guy who racked up stats on a bad team and then road Wade and Bron's coattails to a couple of rings.

I think you're focusing on the wrong stats.  Of course his numbers would take a big hit when he joined the Heat, so not fair looking at last 5 years.  And as for the decline over the last 4 years, his per-36  and his PER are actually pretty consistent over the last 4 years.  It's really just his minutes that are down a little.

Let's face it,  he's a 2 time champion and 9 time All-Star, and he'll likely be a 3-4 time champion, and 10+ time All-Star when all is said and done (with an important note being he was an All-Star in the years he won championships, not a former All-Star who was on a championship team later in his career like Mitch Richmond, Glen Robinson, etc.).  Can you name anybody with those credentials not in the HOF?

why not? perhaps going to be a 3x champion and the 3rd best player on the Heat team...not to mention he did an amazing job in all of his series vs Boston and the Pacers...he is ranked just right. I could say that him returning in 2012 definitely was a major reason we lost...those 3s he hit on KG in Game 7 was clutch

also that offensive rebound in game 6 of the 2013 Finals against the Spurs, if he did not grab that rebound and passed it to Ray, series is OVER

Bosh is an easy Hall of Famer.  If he was foreign, he would be way ahead of Ginobli and Parker in that status, but because he is American he doesn't get the international credit that the foreign guys get. 

So yeah, I see 7 easy Hall of Famers in this series, the 4 in Miami and 3 in San Antonio.

His individual game has really disappeared playing for the Heat.

He'll make it based on the accolades and his early numbers, but the Heat's system has turned him into 2012 and on KG on offense. Then when they try to have him do more he typically can't even when it looks like he has a good match up.

Parker maybe, but Ginobili? Not in any form or fashion. At least, as long as it's not the 'NBA hall of fame'

I wouldn't vote him in at this point but I don't have much of a say in the matter.   IMHO, he'd have to play a major role in winning a title while playing with Bron--to the point of him being named finals MVP

What? You are Bosh should get credit for playing on one Olympics team as a backup?  Ginobli gets credit for playing 7 seasons of professional basketball (until he was 25 or 26). Playing some of your prime years in international competition is worth something obviously. Parker has played in the NBA since he was  19 and his play in the Fiba/Olympics does not seem to have a big impact on his hall chances.

I find it pretty funny that guys like Bosh and Manu are "Sure fire"  Hof's Not just HOF's but absolute no Brainers.

I think the bar is set pretty low. Admittedly I'm not too familiar with Baseball and Football HOF's but it usually seems like you need to be a great to get in.

Bosh should be in his prime now and I don't even know if he's a top 30 player in the league

It seems like you could make a case that all those players are at least as good as Bosh is. The ones with question marks are ones you could argue.
