I don't think he is going to want to re-sign with cleveland . I mean what are the chances Lebron leaves south beach to move back to Akron ?  especially after making 4 straight finals appearances in Miami. It's not happening . Cleveland is a cesspool

I guess if Love really wanted to see his relatives beach boys shrine  in the rock n' roll hall of fame , that could change everything ......

I'm sure Love would gleefully accept a trade to the Lakers.  It's not like he needs to visit that city for a weekend to get a grasp of it. 

So yeah, I'm sure this trip has to do with Boston's interest in him.  Rondo can semi-recruit him since he's a player.  Apparently those two have been in communication for the past month.

I imagine it went down like this:

Love:  "I want to fulfill my destiny as a Laker"
Agent:  "Boston has a more appealing package for Sota.  They can offer like 9 first rounders for you, but only if you'd opt into your final year.  Would you consider it?"
Love:  "I want to play for the Lakers!!"
Agent:  "They don't have enough assets... will you at least consider Boston?  Look.. you don't need to make a decision now... the draft isn't for another month... how about we visit Boston for a weekend, soak in the city a bit...and see how it feels?"
Love:  "Fine.  "sigh"... I'll visit it for a weekend. "

I would be very, very happy if we get Love, but before we all get too excited about his visit to Boston this weekend, let's remember that he doesn't need to visit LA or NY to know what those cities are about, he already knows them well.

What do the Lakers have to offer for Love aside from the number 7 pick? Also what assets do the Knicks have?

Oh, I fully agree, but if he communicates through his agent that he would re-sign in LA or NY but not Boston then we are screwed, assets or no assets.

Well the Lakers look like they'll be rebuilding and so are the Knicks. I'm not sure why he'll force his way to either team in their present state.

The Lakers have reportedly had their eye on Love for the past few seasons and he loves LA, got roots in LA, his uncle is a freakin Beach Boy member. I'm guessing his interest in NY is for the bright lights and big city fame, and maybe Phil Jackson.

 He's here in Boston for a reason and I doubt it's for the history or night life.

Yea obviously he's here to see if he wants to commit to playing for the celtics, but it doesn't in any way mean that he made up his mind and is not considering LA or NY as he had suggested earlier. All I am saying is that he doesn't need to visit those two places to help him decide, he already knows NY and LA well enough.

Right -- as it stands Golden State, Chicago, and Boston seem like the best places for Love to land if he wants to compete for a title -- in roughly that order, descending.

  Considering Rose has played about 50 games in the last 3 years and what Chicago would have to give up to get Love I don't think that he'd be more likely to compete for a title if he went there.

Yea, and there are some legit questions about what kind of player Rose is going forward. He may never sniff his MVP form ever again after all of these knee surgeries. He certainly looked awful last season before he went down again.

Is this unprecedented to have contracted player show up in a prospective city and embrace this quantity of media coverage?

I mean, one guy spots you and asks you to pose for a pic fine, but there are at least 10 pics of Love out there some with individuals some with businesses...just caught another at Newburry Comics.  He's all over.
