Trade One: Olynyk or Sullinger?

With all the Kevin Love talk, both fan bases assume if there is a deal, Olynyk or Sullinger will be involved.

I'm actually surprised how split Celtic fans seem to be as I lean heavily towards Sullinger as the "keeper".

Which one would you include in the deal?

for other players, Olynyk cuz Sullinger brings more to the table. If for Kevin Love, Sullinger because they will be redundant and Sully after a year or two when his contract is up will probably not like backing up Love, and starting both is not feasible cuz neither are rim protectors and are undersized.

You trade sully. KO is going to be a better player. More skilled and once he puts on the weight will be a decent rebounder. Quicker also

Better still, don't offer either of them. Bass, Bogans, and Johnson and works in the trade machine. Then it's a matter of picks and maybe taking a salary dump like Martin with a trade exception.

Otherwise, I'd keep KO. Like both, but he has higher ceiling (even if he has a lower floor).

Until recently, I always assumed Sullinger was the higher upside player. Now, it's not so clear. I think Sully has a better chance of putting up 20 & 10 one day, but Olynyk could very well be a 15/8/4 guy with high percentages.

Suppose Olynyk IS our future PF though, and we don't trade for Love. What could we get for Sully? Orlando is collecting assets and could use a PF of the future.

We draft Exum and Vonleh and groom them behind Afflalo and Olynyk. Pickup Asik and wait to see if Vonleh grows into a center's body.

Our top 8 would be something like (Guards) Rondo, Afflalo, Exum, (Forwards) Green, Olynyk, Vonleh, Bass, (Center) Asik

Exum could be groomed under Rondo and Afflalo, ditto for Vonleh behind Bass and Olynyk. Vonleh and Asik are both rim protectors who could complement Olynyk. Exum is a guy who could play SG but also take some backup PG minutes.

I voted for Sully not because I think Oly will be a better player, but be because Sully and Love are too similar.

Sully, I think he has more value right now, although I think many here value him too highly,  and if you want the deal to have a chance you pick him.
