It would be nice if he fell to us at #17. I wonder if he would come out then.

right now i am too lazy to find the link, but as part of his statement earlier he mentioned that he also needed to be chosen in the top 10 to come to the US.

now, how much of that is posturing is anyone's guess. i do hope other teams are scared off and he drops to the celtics at #17 and agrees to come to the US. heck, we have 9 days until the [dang]ed draft, i can dream all i want.  :D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

IIRC, it's the money that the issue if he's not at the 6th or 7th slot.  Almost twice as much in those slots as at the 17th slot.

I think I heard the same thing about the money. But he would be on the Celtics. Lets hope that scares other teams away and he falls to 17....and decides to come.

Saric reminds me a lot of Chandler Parsons. Not the athlete Parsons is but not a ridiculous comparison.

I think #6 is a reach, but if Ainge moved back or was really a believer I could get behind it.

Hedo turkuglu

Obligatory reminder that Turkuglu used to be a really good player

I still can't get Marv Albert's voice out of my head from the 2009 playoffs: "Rashard Lewis for three. Hedo Turkuglu for three."

We should start a support group.

If Saric can function as the kind of point forward Turks could, that could be pretty nifty -- I'm a sucker for teams with good passing at every position.

Speaking of passing at every position, what do you think of Kyle Anderson. I did not watch all of his games but I've been doing research and kind of like him. He has great length and great passer. I think he just needs to shed his baby wieght and get stronger.

We should not draft him if it is true, then we can trade for him on the cheap.

I'm pretty indifferent -- I've seen the thread on here, but that's about all I know about him.

Unless we wind up with one of the really top prospects, I usually start looking into college/international players after the draft, not before.

I like Anderson, just not as much as I like Saric. Would be very happy with Kyle at #17 if we draft Smart at #6. Kyle will need real minutes to fully develop IMO and would be seriously slowed by a logjam at forward.

I like Gordon a lot but of we have to give up the 6 to get him I'd love to get Saric.
To that end: Heard talk that Charlotte would like to upgrade the SF position.
With big al and walker as primary options jeff green would be an ideal third option.
How about jeff and. Protected future pick for 9th pick.
Trade 6, 2 future picks, sully and parts for Love.
Draft Saric at 9.
Use TE for center (Asik, Gortat, Saunders)
Use mle on pierce
Line up
Rondo, Pressey
Bradley, Bayless
Saric, Pierce
Love. KO
Asik (or Gortat/ Saunders) hombre
Probably a 4- 6th seed. would need a stronger bench but
If over the next few years we upgrade SG and Saric develops are we are a contender?

For those Saric fans you will be happy to know Saric was put into tier two in Ford's latest tier column along with Gordon, Smart, Vonleh, Exum, and Randle.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

That's AT LEAST a 4 seed in the east. Similarly, I like:

Rondo/Lin
Afflalo/J. Young
Green/Saric/Wallace
Sully/KO/Bass
Asik/KO

That lineup could be constructed while maintaining all of the future draft picks (trade with Orlando mentioned above + TPE, Bogans and filler for Asik and Lin), giving the Celtics a massive amount of flexibility to make a big trade or sign a big FA once the core develops.
