Sixers willing to trade MCW

Heres a question.

If the Sixers draft Exum, what do you throw at Orlando to get the 4th pick and get Parker? Because you know he's not going past Utah...Or is this inner workings of the NBA like with Lebron and Cleveland.

But seriously, any chance you move pieces to get the 3 spot. Which my end up loosing Love because Orlando may want the 6th pick, but I think loosing Love for Parker could benefit in the long run. Just means a couple more rebuilding seasons.

That's an intriguing scenario. Orlando would probably be able to take Smart at #6, since it's unlikely that Utah will take him.

I imagine Boston would have to offer up both 2014 1sts, and some additional value.

From the Celtics end, would you start at offering (along with #6) #17 for that 2nd first rounder in the package or offer the 2015 Clippers first rounder?

I think so, too. Unless Utah took Smart out of spite, unfortunately. Which is possible. I'd offer a good amount for any of the top-3. I imagine they'd keep Embiid if he were there. But all this depends entirely on Cleveland not taking Embiid and Milwaukee liking Exum.

I've been saying for a week that Exum works his way into the top 3, and we can move up to 4 using 6 and 17, and if its a must have player on the board, a future first too.  No GM is gonna say no to that deal if they really want a player they can have at 6. 

I really don't see Philly taking Embiid either.  Developing two bigs simultaneously is a recipe for disaster.  But then again they lost like 20+ straight games last year, they seem to not mind disaster!

I think Orlando would hold out for #6 and #17 and something else.

the top 4 prospects will be the first 4 players picked.  none of the teams with those picks would slide down for a later pick (5 or later) when they can get a prime building block.  those players are why those teams chose to stink up the league this year.   

C's will either be picking Gordon or Smart at #6 depending on whether they think Gordon can become their future SF or if Smart can become enough of a shooter to make a nice 3-guard combo with Rondo and AB.

as for the original topic of Philly trading MCW, I wouldn't be completely surprised.  somebody had to play on that awful roster this year and the PG has the best opportunity to shine in that case.

if Philly saw Smart drop to their second pick or thought they could get Ennis or Peyton with a later pick, I could see them dealing MCW for a player that could fill another hole.   I could almost see a deal with Detroit to give them a PG they really need and taking either Josh or Monroe (with some talent/picks/salary-matching included).  also allows Detroit to move on from Jennings or move him to the bench as 3rd guard.

If they Sixers did pick Exum and Orlando decided they still loved Smart, how bad will winning that extra game look?

Edit: also don't think it's unfair to say MCW did overachieve his rookie year. Brandon Jennings and Tyreke Evans are also two notable overachievers their first season that have since falling off the face of the earth.

Williams has nice tools but so far he has been a tall/rebounding Brandon Jennings.  His shooting was horrible, passing wasn't great and turnovers were high.  He could turn out to be awesome but that's just speculation at this point.

The Sixers have a chance to start three potential Rookie of the Year candidates next season. Playing MCW and Thad Young alongside Noel, #3, and #10. The might be young and exciting next season but probably won't make much noise for a while.

I'd throw Vonleh is there over Smart.  I would hope Ainge has learned by now the value of guards who can shoot, especially alongside Rondo.

Thing is, the Magic already have the #12 as well. Id be more inclined to think they'd be after a player than another mid round pick.  I dont see them moving down two slots unless they are targeting a guy that they are certain the Celtics and Utah wouldnt take.  Utah may also be willing to trade down so I think its unlikely they move unless they are all in for Exum (and dont get him).  Interesting what this says about Parker's value-

I think they take Vonleh or Randle.  whomever is still there at 6.
