The Sixers "bounced around" the idea of trading Michael Carter-Williams, according to ESPN.com.

I'm guessing the original source is from an Insider piece. This was in Ford's chat today:

Chad, I'm really enjoying the back and forth pieces between you and Kevin about the prospects (still miss Hollinger, but I'm a big fan of Kevin's SCHOENE system). In today's piece about Exum, you said the Sixers could draft him and you said "I think the more obvious fit comes if they trade Carter-Williams, an idea I'm told they have bounced around." Could you elaborate on what you've heard and the seriousness of it? Does that mean they don't think MCW is a future allstar?

Sam Hinkie is as asset collector. There are no untouchables on the second worst team in the NBA right now. Carter-Williams may have over performed a bit this rookie year given the situation he was in. If a team blew away the Sixers with an offer for him, yes I think they'd consider it. They like Exum and if they got another piece for Williams that made them better in the long-term, I think they could be willing to let him go.

Nothing to see here.  I mean I think every team would be willing to trade every player if they were blown away with an offer.

what the? The GM should get fired if she trade MCW

I see a lot of potential and talent in him. If he is not their franchise player, he is [dang] well be one of their major building blocks

I think what's more surprising than the Carter Williams part is the fact that the Sixers would be interested in drafting Exum with the no 3 pick instead of either Parker or Embiid (assuming Wiggins gets drafted by the Cavs.)

There are only four untradeable guys in the NBA:  Lebron, Durant, Duncan and Anthony Davis.

GMs should at least listen to offers on everyone else.

If they Sixers did pick Exum and Orlando decided they still loved Smart, how bad will winning that extra game look?

Edit: also don't think it's unfair to say MCW did overachieve his rookie year. Brandon Jennings and Tyreke Evans are also two notable overachievers their first season that have since falling off the face of the earth.

It'd be smarter to fire a GM who sees MCW as untouchable.

Speaking of which, what is the overall consensus on who Cleveland, Milwaukee and Philly selects?

Last mock draft I saw actually had Cleveland selecting Embiid, Bucks selecting Wiggins and Sixers selecting Parker

I'd certainly be willing to move MCW now while his stock is high.

Put up some impressive numbers on a historically, crap basketball team.  I'd have some lingering doubt on him still.

Heres a question.

If the Sixers draft Exum, what do you throw at Orlando to get the 4th pick and get Parker? Because you know he's not going past Utah...Or is this inner workings of the NBA like with Lebron and Cleveland. :P

But seriously, any chance you move pieces to get the 3 spot. Which my end up loosing Love because Orlando may want the 6th pick, but I think loosing Love for Parker could benefit in the long run. Just means a couple more rebuilding seasons.

If Parker is slipping to #4, I'm certainly banging on Orlando's door exploring what it would take to get into that slot to nab Parker.

The cost would come less than what Love will cost the Celtics both short-term & long-term.

6, 17 and/or 2015 Clippers pick, Olynyk.
