The funniest part about this thread is Smart is the last person I wanted to talk about.  Everyone seems to think trading up is out of the picture, but why? I haven't heard any legit sources say what it will take to get a top 3 pick. I'd gladly trade 2 of our first rounders next year and another future pick to get a top 3 this year and keep #6.  This draft has more talent than the next 2 drafts by far
that's the other thing I wanted to address in your original post and forgot about.  future drafts.

There was a lot more hype about the players in this draft -- no argument there. however, next year's draft projects to have a lot more solid big men available.  I wouldn't give up a lottery pick next year to move up in this year's draft -- which I still think will never happen.

obviously you think the top 3 players this year are the end-all-be-all of draft picks.  why?  they each have flaws.  none are on a Duncan or Lebron or Durant level.  why mortgage so much of our future assets for these guys?  also, what makes you think the 3 teams with the top 3 picks would ever consider moving down and NOT getting one of these guys?  we don't have anything they want.  They want to get better and they see these guys as their best chance to do so.

Yeah, tons of big men in next year's draft. This thread is lazy, even the title implies it.

And every draft looks better and better as it approaches, and the value of those future firsts will just go up and up and up, as the college season starts, then during march madness, then after the Combine, then during pre-draft workouts.

You never want to just give picks away a year ahead of time when their value is lowest.
