I know another fan brought this up a while back, but if OKC gets eliminated by San Antonio, do they consider such a deal

Westbrook and Perkins for
Rondo and Jeff Green.

Does OKC try something new if they fail to make it past the Western Conference?

And would such a move make coming to the Celtics more attractive for Kevin Love to sign an extension (and other free agents for that matter)?

Nope.  Westbrook and Durant are the only capable scorers on their team.  They need them both and need them both badly.  Now I think they would be more than happy to trade back Perkins for Green, they just aren't including Westbrook for Rondo.

They need a good solid third scorer.  Someone like Joe Johnson, David West, etc.  Even when healthy Ibaka is not that guy.

No but I'd consider gutting the team and trading everyone outside Durant

Not unless pick 6 was coming with him. And even then I doubt it.

So I will just say NOPE.

I agree, but I don't think they need a third scorer per se. Jackson is a relatively good enough scorer. They need more floor spacing.

Ariza would be a nice fit. He's probably earned himself a decent contract after this year.

If OKC is willing to make that deal I'm sure they would also take Sullinger for Durant.

No.

Getting through the playoffs healthy would be something new. The team's young enough that they'll give their current core another shot or two before they break things up. They'd have been pretty likely to get to the finals last year and this year if not for injuries.

Durant plays better without Westbrook.

OKC plays better with Westbrook, but it limits Durant.

OKC would be much better with Rondo, Durant, and another scorer.

But I would never want Westbrook in Green.  You just can't build a Championship team around him.

I think Durant would wear out over an entire season of playing at the level he played this year when Westbrook was out.

Normally, I'd agree with you on this - but man, watching the Spurs click the way they are - it's hard to believe that they can be beat by anyone this year. It shocks me that the Mavs took them to 7.

If OKC gets eliminated, they would keep Westbrook, Durant and Ibaka.

They would kick out Scott Brooks. They need a better coach.
