If OKC gets eliminated, would they deal Westbrook for Rondo?

Nope.  Westbrook and Durant are the only capable scorers on their team.  They need them both and need them both badly.  Now I think they would be more than happy to trade back Perkins for Green, they just aren't including Westbrook for Rondo. 

They need a good solid third scorer.  Someone like Joe Johnson, David West, etc.  Even when healthy Ibaka is not that guy.

I agree, but I don't think they need a third scorer per se. Jackson is a relatively good enough scorer. They need more floor spacing.

Ariza would be a nice fit. He's probably earned himself a decent contract after this year.

I wonder if having someone with a half decent offensive scheme would help Ibaka be that third guy.

I can't stand to watch most other teams but from what I've heard, Brooks almost exclusively runs isolation plays for Durant and Westbrook. I don't see why an athletic, long 6'10 power can't feed off the attention Westbrook and Durant get as offensive threats. As always, I think we're a bit too caught up with labels here.

i dont see who says no to either a rondo bayless green for westbrook deal or a rondo bayless and this years pick for westbrook
bayless has proven to be instant offense off the bench and has had some big moments for memphis
jeff green was our primary scoring option last year against ny in the playoffs and averaged nearly 20 points a game
all okc would need to do is buy some cheap perimeter shooting and there good
especially since the kd proved that hes better without westbrook, and all you saying hes worse without westbrook are ridiculous lebron couldnt ever do it alone and your taking the guys support

I dunno, I thought going into the series that with a healthy Ibaka, OKC would ultimately win.  But after seeing the Spurs this postseason... I'm not sure if the first two games would've simply been much closer but with ultimately the same outcome.  San Antonio's got one thing in mind and it's getting revenge on the Heat this June.

And to the topic question: no.  If they're trying something new, it's a new coach.  Or running it back and hoping that everyone can stay healthy in the postseason this time.  You don't just trade Westbrook while keeping Brooks and not seeing what the team can do with a healthy Ibaka and perhaps a revamped roster around the core three players.

  Getting through the playoffs healthy would be something new. The team's young enough that they'll give their current core another shot or two before they break things up. They'd have been pretty likely to get to the finals last year and this year if not for injuries.

Normally, I'd agree with you on this - but man, watching the Spurs click the way they are - it's hard to believe that they can be beat by anyone this year. It shocks me that the Mavs took them to 7.

Really? I think it's a testament to how much good coaching makes a difference -- Carlisle vs. Pop was much more of an even balance than Pop vs. Stotts or Pop vs. Brooks. The switching, the substitutions, the way they attacked the Spurs, all happening at a much higher level from Dallas than from PDX or OKC.

long story short I feel like Rondo and Jeff Green would be in there prime playing with the mvp of the league, and jeff green and bay less (or maybe jg and a pick or two) would be enough to take the scoring load away from only kd...rondo would also bring out the best in thabo serge okc' young big men (ANYONE!) lol.....i can't see this being a deal that OKC doesnt take into serious consideration
