Kevin Durant and Giannis got more athletic as they gained strength, and this kid should do the same, and he's already athletic. I'm really curious to see if he can guard SFs in the NBA with his great length.

Speaking of Giannis, Porzingis might very well be this year's version. 18, late declaring for the draft, european, little known, tall string bean who might still be growing, passed over for better known but inferior players in retrospect.

Even Durant and Giannis carried more weight than this kid and it sounds like he's more of a PF/C than a SF.  I'm afraid Sully will break his hip in a box out drill.  Even if Sully farts near the kid, he may get blown over and break a rib.

Good stuff.  I think he is going to climb, starting to worry he could be gone by 17.

Durant was 215 pounds, couldn't do one bench press, and had a max vert of 33.5", and his standing vert was 26". Durant's standing vert was 1.5 inches higher than Kelly Olynyk's. With strength and training, Durant got much more athletic.

Joakim Noah was about the same weight as Porzingis is now, but was 3 years older when he measured that 223 lbs at his combine.

Check out this picture of Noah when he was about Porzingis' age: http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/236x/fb/a4/75/fba475cc8ba31c715145b451b91ea17f.jpg

Calling him the next Dirk is a big disrespect to Dirk.

I definitely wouldn't call him the next Dirk, but he could be a Joakim Noah like somebody else said, which is to say a poor man's KG.

Size always rises leading up to the draft. I worry about all those not super impressive shooting guards falling to us at 17.

But he already shows a 3 pointer, which KG and Noah never had, and this kid is only 18, and his 3 point line is way beyond the college 3 point line.

And he has the foundations of a potentially great ball handling ability for a 7 footer.

It's just doubtful he develops all the inbetween shots that Kelly Olynyk has.

Giannis was 196 pounds one year ago. The kid Milwaukee drafted physically matured quite a bit before this season started. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oaw0_zw9LGs#t=26

Noah's arms were twice as thick as this kid's.

But because Porzingis probably can't play much or any SF at 7', he's probably not going to be as ready to play as Giannis was this year, but stranger things have happened.

If he gained 10 pounds he'd be 230, and that's passable at PF with his reach and tenacity.

Noah has the same length arms as Julius Randle. 7' flat. Porzingis looks well beyond that.

Wow. Cool picture. I really like Porzingis too. I don't think he's going to be the draft's best player, but I think he could grow into a very solid starting C on a contender and make an all-star team or two. I like the pick at #17, depending on what they do at #6.
