So if we can't land love , melo , or another all-star , I think Rondo has to go. What are the chances of him wanting to stay if we go through another rebuilding year ? I don't want to lose him for nothing .

Lakers make sense with the c's getting Nash and # 7 back. They would still have cap room to sign another max player and more .

Sacremento makes sense for # 8, mclemore, thomas and filler ,bos sends rondo and bradley s+t

Detroit = # 9 and Monroe for Rondo and # 17 , maybe c's send monroe to a 3rd team and get another young player or pick back

I LOVE rondo, but if we can't add to him this year , I think it makes most sense to trade him.

we could end up with Smart/ Vonleh,Randle or Gordon  if we get the Lakers pick

tank another year and hope for the best in the next draft .

I vote no, but I'd be willing to trade him for a top 3 pick.

Didn't Detroit lose that #9 pick last night to Charlotte?

I really don't want to move Rondo for another mid-tier lottery pick.  He's probably the best asset the Celtics have (following the lottery disappointment) and certainly the best player on their current roster.

Detroit isn't picking at #9.  They were the biggest losers last night, as their pick was Top 8 protected, and otherwise going to Charlotte.  When Cleveland lept over them, they lost their pick.

Charlotte doesn't need Rondo with Walker.

I doubt a top 3 pick happens. 1.Cavs have Kyrie (not happening), 2. Philly has MCW (not happening) 3. Rondo most definitely isn't re-signing with MIL (not happening).

If we tank another year, there a couple of good centers... Okafor, Towns and a decent consolation prize in WCS.

We could be looking at a team of
1 Smart
2 Bradley, McLemore
3 Gordon, Green
4 Sully, Oly
5 Okafor/Towns/WCS

That team could have a lot of potential if... Oh screw it!  I can't take another year of tanking.  Let's go get Love or Melo!

Considering Exum, I might even go to #4. Of course, none of the teams ahead of the C's would be able to resign Rondo, so that'd be problematic. Not a lot of rebuilding teams would be interested in a one-year rental, which means a three-way deal would probably be required.

I will say, if I read the reports correctly last night, Danny said he could be patient drafting a young guy, and also that they'd be looking at their top 40 prospects. So, it does sound as if if he can't swing a quicker rebuild deal and ends up drafting, he'd be ready for a heavily rebuilding team again next year. Also, it sounds like he might either look to trade down or get Wyc to spring for an early second-rounder. So he probably sees a couple of players he likes in that neighborhood, too.

Absolutely. Trade Rondo, and Green too if you can. Take Nurkic and Smart. Tank one more season, get another shot at the top 3, and build it up for the long haul.

If the Celts offered Philly a package of Rondo, J Green, their no 6 and 17 pick for MCW and the no 3 pick, think they do it?

So it's essentially Jabari Parker and MCW for Rondo, Green, and two lesser picks.  I think Philly hangs up the phone.  Besides, Philly already has the #10 pick to pick up another player.

What if the Celts threw in Chris Babb?(lol)
