Ok I get it everybody in Celtic land is p---ed off cause we didnt get a top three pick. Hell we even went down one spot. We still have two very good picks in a decent draft. Still loaded with more draft picks to add pieces to this team.To be honest I am not upset at all. I trust Danny Ainge will make the right moves to get us back to a contender. Also people remember lots of cap room in 2015 as well. Who is to say Danny don't make a trade to move up either? Going to be a long summer but we have to be patient.

You get a Tommy Point for being rational. Rationality seems to have taken the night off on Celticsblog tonight.

I don't think anyone is being 'irriational.' We all knew we were going to end up with a top 7 pick. Fingers were just crossed ever so tightly due to the off-chance it could be a top 3.

We still got Danny Ainge, Rajon Rondo, 8 draft picks, Brad Stevens, and the historical franchise that is the Celtics.

I am being positive I do believe Danny Ainge will have a huge impact on this draft. Weather he drafts at 6 or moves back or trades up or trades for Love. At some point mark my words this will be the draft that people remember for Danny Ainges moves he makes,

Yeah I do.

It was 2007-2008 when he brought in Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett.

When I found that out from a excited phone call from a friend, I literally had my mouth open, and was screaming with joy for 7 minutes straight while hopping up and down.

Monk let me ask you this question. What would you rather have a bunch of draft picks for the future and build a team? Or would you rather make trades for a Love or Melo type?

We spend massive amounts of money and time watching and talking about people we don't know play a children's game.

Rationality what?

I want what will win us championships.

Be it through the draft, or making trade for Love/Melo. I can honestly say, I can close my eyes, lean back, and if I'm Wyc Grousbeck, I'm probably giddy with excitement at whatever Ainge will do.

Ainge is going to have to make some tough decisions.

Me personally?

I would love us to package a trade for Love, then see which superstar or Allstar would like to join us. A team of Rondo/Love and plenty of assets in the weak East can lure some potential free agents/sign and trades/stars.

We got lucky a few years ago with Sully falling to us. I love his game I would hate to trade him but for a chance to maybe get Love and other pieces would have to really think about it. I wonder what Rondo really is thinking right now.

I doubt he's thrilled we either are going to get some help around him or he's gone IMO

Don't really see how anything has changed.

If the pick had been top three, Ainge would have kept it.

Slipping one slot from 5 to 6 makes no meaningful difference.

Before the season, I was desperate to get a Top 8 pick... so much so that I felt we needed to trade Rajon Rondo in order to ensure that we'd get a Top 8 pick.  From what I had been told, this was a ridiculous draft with upwards of 8 potential all-stars... Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Exum, Smart, Randle, Gordon, Vonleh.

Over the course of the season, the names shifted a bit and tiers formed.   We ended up with the #6 pick and didn't even need to trade Rondo to do it.  I'm totally happy with it.  We'll either add a bluechip prospect or use it as a major trade asset.  That was the plan all along.  If you were going to tank in any year... pick a year where there were 8 potential all-stars.  I get that people aren't thrilled, but Aaron Gordon should be a nice piece to add.  Ainge is smart.  We'll make out well.

Top 3 pick was always a major long-shot.  Boston was never bad enough to sink that low.  I realistically considered the possibility of us winning 35-41 games and sneaking into the playoffs accidentally.  Thrilled with this outcome.  We have plenty of assets now.  Let's see what Danny does with his gold.

Also, plenty of fans kept warning us over the past month that our most likely pick was statistically #6.  The odds said we'd end up #6, because it was most likely at least 1 team picking 6-14 would jump into the Top 3.   How can anyone over-react to something we'd basically expected to happen since the season ended for us?   At least one team was going to leapfrog us... I'm just glad it wasn't the Lakers.

I feel bad for Pistons fans. Roughly 82% chance to keep the pick tonight, and they got screwed.
