Replacement GM Update:
1. Out of respect to Jayhovaone, who's still (obviously) a member of the Celticsblog community and in the points league with many of us, please don't refer to his removal as "Jaygate" or anything like that. It was an unfortunate turn of events but I'm hoping we can all move on.
2.
BigAlTheFuture (BATF) is joining us as our newest GM, taking over Lucky's old team. I gave BATF a few roster decisions after reviewing things with Eja and LarryBird17 (thanks y'all... ). I think these are all in the best interests of the league and moving forward:
3. After discussing the options with Eja, Eja/Jay's trade will stand -- with a slight revision. Given the choice, BATF swapped out Matthew Dellavedova for Jordan Farmar. The revised trade then is:
Revised BATF trade #1----
Anthony Davis, Xavier Henry, James Johnson, Matthew Dellavedova, (pick that became Tyler Ennis), Eja's 2015 2nd rounder, Toines Boys 2015 2nd rounder
David Lee, Jeff Teague, Ty Lawson, Marc Gasol, BATF's 2015 first rounder
----4. Apparently LarryBird17 & Jay had made a deal on or around draft day. Since I believe LB17 negotiated this in good faith (even if there were serious issues with how it was submitted & confirmed -- which I've gone over with LB17), and since BATF signed off on it, I'm going to let it go through -- also with a minor revision:
Revised BATF trade #2----
LB17 trades Lebron James, Rajon Rondo, 2014 #38 pick*
BATF trades Anthony Davis
----*4B. Since the trade was not submitted/confirmed properly the #38 pick was an auto pick of Josh Huestis (OKC). The 2 picks after it were Wiggles' #39 (Markel Brown) and my #40 (Spencer Dinwiddie).
Since it was so late in the draft, I went ahead and gave BATF the option of remaking the selection from the non-picked players and Dinwiddie (b/c i'm a nice guy).
This is a one-time thing and won't be used a precedent for future missed picks.
BATF selected
Joe Harris, SG (CLE), meaning Huestis will go to the waiver wire when we get set up on Yahoo! with the other non-drafted rookies.
5. As I told some of you via PM, I'd like to get through the cutdown date (probably Oct. 17) and get everything loaded up and running onto Yahoo! before we undertake any additional league rule changes that might have stemmed from this instance and/or the results of our 6 amendment votes (FWIW, as a matter of course, I'm not in favor of re-voting on things that don't pass for at least a year).
