If i was 1 year closer to contending I wouldn't have done this deal.

Already answered my question here!

I think the other contenders this year are gonna wish they'd traded a #1 for Miles -- who I think is going to come the closest to replicating also-former-GC'er Gerald Green's production from last year (2 triples, 12-14 ppg, 3 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl).

That boost in production over their 15/16th guy might have been enough to knock off DesDr... who won the title last year by 1 TO....4 points...3 FGM.... and a few rebounds.

I agree. DD is in title-defense mode. He only cares about the upcoming season, not building or rebuilding. He's going to have some competition this season, but this trade helps him for sure.... although he won't come close to G$'s 15.8ppg. He's not an as gifted scored as G$.

One other things about ur trade is that Blatch takes up a roster spot. All of your moves up until this point set u up for a playoff push. This one hurts that.

J/K.... You're right, but I'm still working on some things.

I may be tipping my hand here a little, but Blatche is VERY available to a good home.

Trade winds are blowin...

Trade Announcement #1 (oooh there's more than one?!?!)
---------------------------

Rusted Rims trade Mo Williams

KissinCousins trade Kris Humphries

As a former owner of Mo Williams, I believe it's decent return for him. Three-four seasons ago, I couldn't even get a future second rounder for him.

Hump should have steady production for the Wiz. Unlike their reserve big men from the past few seasons, Booker & Seraphin, Hump is not injury prone. If Nene times his injury with the playoffs, you will have a productive starter/difference maker.

As far as Mo goes, I am not getting good feeling about Rubio out of Minnesota. Part of it is hit poor shooting. Part of it is that Flip is trying to cleans the franchise from everything KAHN!!!!!!!!! I would not be surprised if Ricky is traded and Mo/Zach end up sharing the PG duties.

Mk

Meanwhile Hump is the one currently dealing with an injury haha (cut his hand on the rim...why doesn't that happen more often?).  No but I can see Hump having a real solid year in WAS.  I just needed a bit more production out of the 1 as I'm pretty much all set at the C position.

Tons of young talent in MIN, but late in games, when the Wolves are occasionally in position to find a W, there's no way you're not seeing Williams on the court.

Overall a very lateral trade for both teams & one that makes sense for both teams.  As boring as a deal gets haha.

Jpnas Jerebko, Van Gundy's stretch 4 in Detroit, with 14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, in 20 minutes last night. He's available for a 2nd rounder if anyone is looking for some young, cheap production at the 3 or 4 spot.

That's more like it.

If I had to handicap the title race at this point, I'd say it's DD in the lead spot of course, then Blake, Champ, and I as the major 2nd tier contenders, KWhit as a huge wildcard, and then like 6-7 teams with a strong shot at making the playoffs and maybe making a run.  I won't list them because I'd inevitably forget somebody and jimmies would become rustled.

I like my own chances, mostly b/c I now have "commissioner tools" in my Yahoo! nav, so I think i can probably add like 20 wins w/o anyone noticing.

STRONGLY considering name change to Rustled Jims now.

So I was bored at work and filtered thru each team to see how many players each team had that were at least 70% "started" in yahoo leagues as of now.  I didn't factor in any trades/rookies that aren't reflected on the yahoo rosters.  Not that the results mean a ton, but i figured I'd share em...

1) Beantown Cox - 8 (+ 3 players ~60% started)
2) Designated Drinkers - 8

3) COYS - 6 (+1 ~60%)
4a) Rusted Rims - 6
4b) KissinCousins - 6
6a) I Hate WW - 5 (+1 ~60%)
6b) Highway Sixers - 5 (+1 ~60%)
8a) Utah Flash - 5
8b) Y'all Hate - 5
8c) LB17 - 5

11) Blake 4 (+3 ~60%)
12) KWit - 4 (+2 ~60%)
13a) Birdman - 4
13b) GC - 4

15a) Eja - 3
15b) Bad Dream Team - 3
17) Toine's Boys - 2 (+1 ~60%)

18) MMSB - 1 (+2 ~60%)
19) Juggs - 1
20) Webskins - 0

Again this doesn't really tell us anything we don't already know, DD is the hands-down favorite to win another one, and as FWF said, it's going to be a battle just to make the playoffs with so many deep rosters this year.

This is pretty cool. This type of ranking will probably be pretty accurate during the season.

Had PG13 not broke his leg in half, the UF would tied for forth with 6 players.

In reality, you can bump the UF down to 15th since both Hibbert & Lance are no longer playing for the UF.

I'm willing to bet Toines Boys finishes at least in the top 8, so I don't fully buy these projections. Still an interesting method of analysis , thanks for sharing
