All I know is if the Knicks desperately want to turn their franchise around, would be satisfied by the smirk that they would get watching the Brooklyn Nets crumble as they end up in the lottery, and the Knicks get to build around the young prospects in Townson or Jahil Oakfor next year. In 2015-2016, Amare/Wallace should be expiring, giving them plenty of cap flexibility in the future.

The Knicks should pull a Jazz, and take on our bad contracts in exchange for picks to help their speedy recovery.

I don't agree with this. They are totally screwed for next year- that much I do agree with. The sad truth is that they only have two moves, here. One is to sit tight until 2015 when they will have Bargnani, Stoudemire, and Chandler come off the books so that they can try to lure teammates that will satisfy Carmelo. They have about a 50-50 shot of making the playoffs anyway. Two is to have a fire sale.

If they went for option 2, then sure they might take on a contract like Wallace's. I think they'll go for option 1, though. It's easier to bring in good players when you already have one, and the worst of this quagmire will be over in one more year.

What if Melo himself exclusively demands a trade to BOS? Melo has all the leverage in terms of whether or not he wants to leave, and or wants a trade to BOS, would Melo actually find Rondo/Love interesting enough to want to join to form the new Celtics Big 3?

For me all of this boils down to this simple fact:

1) Melo considers Lebron one of his closest friends.
2) Lebron is absolutly disgusted by the Celtics. (kinda makes you happy inside)

Melo in Green would be a million to one chance, it would have to be the only way he can see him self winning a title and Kevin Love + Rajon isnt enough to do that. The only team he's willing to switch to from the east would have to be the Bulls.

I would think so. Would be interesting what we give up to Minny if we land Love though. The TPE would be huge in getting Melo here if we didn't use it in the deal with Minny. Either way i think the TPE is a huge chip weather it goes to Minny Or NY, but yes i do think he would wanna come here.

A team of Rondo,Melo, and Love would make players take a discount to play here. If we could keep Hump and add a few players like a Center and a 6th man we would be top 3 in the east and make a push at the Finals in my opinion.

Couple of things.

1. I don't believe the TPE can be paired with anything other then draft picks

2. I worry about how bad of a defense a team built around Rondo, Melo and Love would be. I think both Love and Melo are great players who need defensively capable players around them.

I would have to agree with this. Even though they have in cap hell for years on end. They're the Knicks and they have money to spend in situations like this. Ten mil and an extra year of Gerald Wallace won't be a bother to them if they're able to net two or three draft picks that won't be picked or won't make an impact until after Wallace's contract is up anyway.

Both Love and Melo would be a pipe dream but if both did want to come to Boston they would need to take a page out of the Heat and sign for less.  I'm sorry but no player is worth 20 million! If Melo and Love both took 14-15 million a year, and that number because I think LeBron is the best in the world right now and he makes 16, Melo is no LeBron. So if they came here accompanied with Rondo and Jeff Green with Sully, watch out!

1) Right! he dosnt care.. thats why the very first thing he mentions when he knocks out the Nets is the fact that you can still see the green on them (KG and Pierce) It isnt a well guarded secret.. you even had Lebrons mother getting into a verbal shouting match with PP after a hard foul in 2009.. i could go on and on and on with well documented stuff, not to mention the fact that Judas is on the Heat roster.

What everyone here on this board is banking on when it comes to free agency is that its all buissness on the court alone and from what i've seen over the last 5-6 years that could not be further from the truth.

I'll eat a shoe if Carmelo Anthony lands in Boston, thats how sure i am, there is 110% NO WAY that he even considers it unless if we are the absolute best chance he has to win a title and we are not even close to that.
