The difference over 4 years in the 1st and 5th pick appears to be $7.5 million. Not chump change.

More than I thought.  But if he used the control of the information to work out a trade (say between Milwaukee at 1, the Celtics at 5), Embiid would be the first pick but end up in Boston.  Remember, Milwaukee would not necessarily know whether Boston has access to the report (I'm assuming they would). Obviously there is a lot of speculation here, but that is what makes it fun. This is as close as we get to playing GM!!

Interesting angle on it.

It would be an outrageous steal. If I were a GM picking #1 and I knew that Embiid was intentionally withholding med records from me while showing them to teams he liked, I'd take him anyway. Figuring that if the records were bad enough, he'd show me them so I wouldn't pick him!!!

The cynic in me wonders if Embiid hasn't overstated the extent of his back issues to facilitate just this set of circumstances.

It will be quite telling what happens with him in a few days when we know for sure who picks where.

Has any player even done this before in the NBA to anyone's knowledge? It just doesn't seem logical to me...

To willingly take yourself out of the running to be the first, second, or third pick in a draft, regardless of what team it is, seems a little absurd to me.

John Elway, Eli Manning....

Refer to bold.

But fair enough. It's been done before. TP.

I just would not want to play for bucks or live in Utah either......I d give up money to avoid that sentence .

Btw .....I like Randles comments ...kid speaks well,  intelligent ,  and is serious about his career.

I think his interview would impress DA...if that's the way he spoke face to face with the C's mgmt
