I screamed at my television: "That was all Doc's Fault"---The Celtics CRUSHED the league all year---only to have Doc change his rotation to start the playoffs---When he finally came to his senses (or when DANNY intervened)--and put Eddie House back in, the Celtics were back to the dominate team they were in the regular season--although it took another 7 game series against the Cavs to re-adjust....Idiot almost BLEW our title, all by himself....
This didn't happen.

Eddie House wasn't reinserted into the rotation, his minutes kept bouncing based on Doc's feel until the Finals. Once Doc had Derek Fisher to put House on he played him plenty House didn't play much at all versus Detroit for example.

I think House and Cassell both played their way out of the rotation a couple of times during the playoffs.

House certainly did.
Yeah they both did. I remember KG or Pierce cussing Cassell out for going to "get mine" mode during a playoff game too.

In the end how Rondo played also determined how much House/Cassell got to play. Rondo was up and down, when he was on he was playing a full 30+ minutes.

Rondo getting short minutes because he was struggling mainly happened against the Cavs, and he still averaged 30+ minutes vs them (somewhat surprisingly).

Actually, the Clippers really had it in their hands. But they have choked their leads in like almost every other games and gave it to OKC.

Doc Rivers, the biggest choke coach in the NBA!

...And I was actually rooting for the Clips to take down OKC too. I hope San Antonio can put up a challenge against those guys.

I think its more "Hey clippers, you just arent actually that good!" "Hey Rockets you arent very good either!"

Thats kind of my point. CP3 and Blake Griffin are just overrated. 2 supposed absolute superstars with a pretty stacked supporting cast and one of the best coaches to boot.

They just arent good enough.

Im gonna vomit if Miami loses  and people say "it was the matchup problem! No answer for Roy Hibbert and Paul George was glued to Lebron"

Griffin has always been overrated -- his game is finally catching up to where his national recognition would put it.

Paul is that good, though.

P.S. I always believed that Doc was and IS and average (at best) X's and O's coach.

Myy guess is that most people agree that x's and o's aren't his strength.  My opinion is simpler -- I don't know.

Every team needs a variety of things from a coach and the great ones are gifted enough to be able to provide what each different group needs in all the correct dosages.

Doc is probably not a great NBA coach.  His isn't Red, Jack, Phil, etc.  He is good enough to win a title with the right guys though.  Glad we had him for the KG years.

Funny thing is that Doc is great at drawing up plays out of timeouts and situationaly.

I know CP3 is good, but I think he still somewhat over-rated.  You can't make the mistakes he made in game 5 if you want to lead your team to a title.  You just can't.  The clippers just aren't good enough at this point.

Doc being the coach probably didn't help as much as their fans thought it would, but I don't think he was the reason why they lost.  They didn't have a def stopper who could really slow down KD at all.  They made mental mistakes and blew game 5.  It wasn't the bad call, it was a complete meltdown with CP3 leading the way.  Yeah, Doc like any coach probably could have made better adjustments, but when your team lays an egg like that it needs to be mainly on the players.

With the way the Sterling thing is going, I wonder if Doc will be back with the clippers next year?

Wow, did Doc just take HIS team ONE whole round further than Vinny Del Negro did last year and to the SAME point that Vinny took them two years ago??

Despite ADDING JJ Redick, Darren Collison, Turkoglu, Big Baby, and Reggie Bullock???

I am so tired of the excuses from Doc!!!  It was Sterling's fault.  It was the refs' fault.

At what point is it YOUR fault Doc??????

Miss ya SOOOOOOOOO much!!!  NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why the hate?! Doc brought us a banner, and the Clippers played great all year and in the postseason too. Game five was a 1 in a million combination of KD dominance late, CP3 mindfart, and arguably rigged calls.

You'd think if the league was rigging calls it would go in favor of the Clips.

Doc coached ok , maybe he was better or at least perceived by his players as being a better coach than previous coaches.

But his impact wasn't enough to overcome Scott Brooks ...who I rate not much better than Vinnie D.

Doc coached pretty good game , and handled the pressures good ....that's his strength .....handling media and team conflicts .

The best team won .....that's OKC ......with or without Doc or Brooks.

Durrant and Westbrook > than CP3 and Blake

I though Adams made a huge impact , took away the effectiveness of Clippers bigs in the paint .

CP3.. In the past two seasons has really dropped like a rock on my list of favorite players

I have him lumped with the likes of Howard , Bynum, for players I dislike .

Bothers me Doc has little scruples who he goes to bed with......he joins Sterling , a known jerk and Racist ....Cp3 diva of the NBA .......

He just might be he ultimate self centered coach of all time.

Alternatively: the league wants the Clippers to disappear into the background to quiet some of the inevitable Sterling-related noise and doesn't want the newly-minted MVP getting bounced in the second round.

Yep - Very appropriate title.

Thank you Doc Rivers - for willing your Celtics Team in that critical Game 4...for instilling confidence in your team in adverse situation.

Glenn "Doc" Rivers out-coached another great coach in that game......just listen to his comments...his coaching...and then look at our Celtics body language.

Yep...he is great.

As for the Clips? Losing to a potential Finals team is no bad mark...with all that Doc had to go through with the DTS mess, I'm surprised that he was able to will them to as many wins as he did.

Glenn Doc Rivers is still a great coach.
