Not sure why so many Celtics fan love Doc, wasn't it him who said the Lakers were the better franchise?  Everyone seems to forget that, anyways I am glad he and the Clips got knocked out.  And again lets not put Spoelstra as a good coach.  Any coach of that team would win titles, same with Phil, had Jordan and Kobe, arguably both top 5 players of all time.

n the last 30 years the Lakers have been by far the best franchise in the NBA and even all of sports probably. Hurts to say it but it's true.

Looking at their roster to begin the season, I felt that the Clippers were pseudo-contenders all along.  Their ceiling was the WCF, even after their midseason additions.  They were never good enough to beat OKC or San Antonio in a 7 game series.  Not enough star power.  Blake Griffin is overrated (but improving), and CP3... well, his shortcomings have been well-documented.

Even the greatest coaches can't lead their team to a title without adequate talent on their roster.

Thank you Doc Rivers - for willing your Celtics Team in that critical Game 4...for instilling confidence in your team in adverse situation.

Glenn "Doc" Rivers out-coached another great coach in that game......just listen to his comments...his coaching...and then look at our Celtics body language.

Yep...he is great.

As for the Clips? Losing to a potential Finals team is no bad mark...with all that Doc had to go through with the DTS mess, I'm surprised that he was able to will them to as many wins as he did.

Glenn Doc Rivers is still a great coach.

There are a billion crazy scenarios you can dream up, but here are some players who also got traded AFTER Doc wound up in LA.

Andre Iguodala.
Andrea Bargnani.
Tyreke Evans.
Robin Lopez.
Kevin Martin.
Jrue Holiday.
Luis Scola.
Brandon Jennings.
Emeka Okafor.
Marcin Gortat.
Rudy Gay.
Luol Deng.
Marcus Thornton.
Andre Miller.
Spencer Hawes.
Evan Turner.

And that's not even getting into free agents like Josh Smith or Al Jefferson.  Would Utah have done a sign-n-trade of Big Al for Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan?  Who knows?

I do think it's clear that Doc's quick move for Redick and overestimation of Jordan were the two biggest mistakes he made and I'm not sure how he fixes them.

Wow, did Doc just take HIS team ONE whole round further than Vinny Del Negro did last year and to the SAME point that Vinny took them two years ago??

Despite ADDING JJ Redick, Darren Collison, Turkoglu, Big Baby, and Reggie Bullock???

I am so tired of the excuses from Doc!!!  It was Sterling's fault.  It was the refs' fault. 

At what point is it YOUR fault Doc???
