There is nothing Doc or Pop could have done to make KG produce much better than he showed this season. KG is not at Duncan's level of play he's got too many miles on his body. Age.

Pop is a boss. I'm sure he could have squeezed some miles out of KG.

i agree, i think kg playing in spurs will not look old, i think kidd is controlling kg's minutes
look at austin daye at least he got something out of it, even in a small amount of games
stephen jackson and shannon brown are maybe done than kg

Anybody who thinks Garnett looks older than Duncan on the court has definitely not watched many Nets/Spurs games.  Duncan makes KG look fresh out of high school.

The only difference is Duncan never relied on much athleticism (not anywhere near KG).  He's also on a slow, methodical team, not trying to keep up with a group playing small ball.

The whole "Kevin Garnett is cooked" thing I keep seeing on this site is a myth.  He sucks compared to 1-2 years ago when he was a top 5 center, but so what?  That hasn't stopped him from leading the league in defensive rebounding percentage.

He's still better than half the centers in the league.  The things he does on the court for a contender still dwarfs the contributions of a Kendrick Perkins.  Put KG on a team like the Heat/OKC/Spurs and nobody would be saying he has to retire.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

so are you saying that if greg pop was the coach of the nets, not jason kidd, they could have beaten the heat? even without a parker type PG and a bigman type duncan?
