I hate that LeBron has lead to some frustrating losses for the Celtics.
I hated "The Decision" and I hate the persona of the Miami Heat.
But I don't hate LeBron's game - he's a great player.

I just don't think that during his title runs the last three years that he has had to get through any legit prime time player or team to get them. Therefore I "do not" put him in Bird, Jordan or Magic's level at this point.

If the argument is that Lebron has Bosh and Wade and those three are today's Miami Heat's equivalent to Boston's original big three of Bird, McHale and Parish, who exactly then, has been the Heat's Jabbar, Magic and Worthy? What team has been the Heat's Pistons Bad Boys rival that Jordan had to get through?

You forgot the '6er team that the Cs had to go through too. Dr J, Moses Malone, Cheeks, Toney, Bobby Jones.

The cHeat have had it pretty easy, but so did His Airness.

That Bad Boys team you mention were at the end of what they were when they played the Bulls.  They were a lot tougher when we played them as opposed to when the Bulls played them. The Bulls beat an end of the road Laker team, end of the road Pistons team and nobody else. MJ fourth to Russell, Bird , Magic.

LeBron irritates the hell out of me. He whines more than any player in the game even though he gets his way 95% of the time. BUT the dude works his butt off and just loves to play the game, can't really hate on that. He more than deserves his two rings.

D-Wade, on the other hand, is the grimiest piece of trash in the league. I've seen him maliciously try to injure other players one two many times to have even an ounce of respect for that insect looking creep. I hope karma hits him hard.

Chris Bosh is harmless and I like Erik Spoelstra, but if I have to see Miami three peat I'm quite sure i'll vomit.

LarBrd33 I'll say again, I don't watch basketball worried about how you think I should. If I don't like someone it doesn't need to be justified no matter how you feel about it. If you think you're above it, I'm laughing... it's like you love every great player to ever live, at least that's what you are portraying in this thread.

I haven't seen anyone say anything about him not being a great player (maybe there are a few here and there but I don't really recall). No one denies he is, so I really don't see the problem. Seems to me like if we don't feel the way you do, you basically call us children. Well, I will be of the same mindset as an 11yo because your argument (to me), isn't up to snuff.

I don't like him but I'm not begrudging you for liking him.

It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

How pathetic are the Celtics?

17 Championships

9 only needed to play two rounds.
Out of those, only 5 out of 18 series were against teams with 50 wins or more.

1957: Syracuse Nationals (38-34) and St Louis Hawks (34-38)
1959: Syracuse Nationals (35-37) and Minneapolis Lakers (33-39)
1960: Philadelphia Warriors (49-26) and St Louis Hawks (46-29)**
1961: Syracuse Nationals (38-41) and St Louis Hawks (51-28)*
1962: Philsadelphia Warriors (49-31) and LA Lakers (54-26)**
1963: Cincinnati Royals (42-38) and LA Lakers (53-27)*
1964: Cincinnati Royals (55-25)  and San Francisoc Warriors (48-32)**
1965: Philadelphia 76ers (40-40) and LA Lakers (49-31)*
1966: Philadelphia 76ers (55-25) and LA Lakers (45-35)*

5 only needed to play three rounds.
Out of those only 7 of 15 series were against teams with 50 wins or more.

1968: Detroit Pistons (40-42) and Philadelphia 76ers (62-20) and LA Lakers (52-30)**
1969: Philadelphia 76ers (55-27) and New York Knicks (54-28) and LA Lakers (55-27)***
1974: Buffalo Braves (42-40) and New York Knicks (49-33) and Milwaukee Bucks (59-23)**
1976: Buffalo Braves (46-36) and Cleveland Cavs (49-33) and Phoenix Suns (42-40)*
1981: Chicago Bulls (45-37) and Philadelphia 76ers (62-20) and Houston Rockets (40-42)*

Only 3 needed all four rounds like Miami.
Out of those 7 out of 12 series were against teams with 50 wins or more.

1984: Washington Bullets (35-47) and New York Knicks (47-35) and Milwaukee Bucks (50-32) and LA Lakers (54-28)***
1986: Chicago Bulls (30-52) and Atlanta Hawks (50-32) and Milwaukee Bucks (57-25) and Houston Rockets (51-31)***
2008: Atlanta Hawks (37-45) and Cleveland Cavs (45-37) and Detroit Pistons (59-23) and LA Lakers (57-25)**

LOL....14 of your 17 rings came at a time when you played fewer playoff games than the Heat have to go through. Strike those off the record.

Of the remaining 3, only 2 times did you go through enough worthy competition to have any meaning. That is 84 and 86. Congrats! Those were great teams.

Please don't even bring up your one and done 2008 team. You managed to borrow other team's stars to win a ring in a Lakers off year and you still struggled at that.

The Celtics acquired Garnett and Allen by giving up substantial assets.

The cHeat cheated to get the current team together. They got James and Bosh for NO SUBSTANTIAL ASSETS.

Riley, Wade, James and Bosh colluded to come together, circumventing league rules on tampering and collusion.

That's why they are often referred to as the cHeat. Truly something to be proud of.

If it weren't for the '08-'12 Celtics, the odds of the current Heat team coming together would have been substantially lower.

Just sayin'.

Talk about collusion?  ::) How do you get KG for Big Al without McHale colluding with Ainge? That is collusion. Signing a FREE AGENT is not.

What "substantial" assets did you give up? Wally Szczerbiak? LOL. Jeff Green? Lol. You got him back and he lead you to the lottery. Big Al? Did anyone even know he was in the league anymore until this year?

One and done. That's what the C's are.

Do you think the Celtics had anything to do with Miami going after our Big 3? Pat Riley was planning for it since 2006. That's when Wade, Lebron and Bosh signed their extensions to opt out at the same time. It took years of planning and moving players around so we'd have the cap space at the right time.

If you were shocked by it its cause you're playing checkers while we're playing chess.

We slammed the door shut on your window and took your players as spare parts.

Looking forward to next year when Paul Pierce comes to South Beach with his tail between his legs. He can back up the King.

The good thing about Heat fans is they'll pretty much cease to exist as a group when LeBron leaves town. Enjoy the bandwagon while it lasts!

Good to know that Heat fans are just as humble as LBJ himself.

Miami is an utter joke of a franchise.

Sorry the NBA won't strike it off the record just because some Heat Fan wants it to. Not the Celtics fault everyone else sucked, you play the competition in front of you and you try to win. And the Celtics won 17 times sorry. Win 14 more before putting your team on the Celtics' level. Oh that's if you're still a Heat fan when Lebron leaves.

to the person posting about the long tradition of the Celtics and their championships:

Please learn the history of the league before making general statements.

Some of the years you are referring to, teams only played 72 games. Also, there was much more parity in those days. For example, in 1957, no one won more than 44 games and no one lost more than 41 games.

Also, more often than not, the 2nd best team was in the same conference as the Celtics so the finals were anti-climatic.

Today, teams play 1/3 of their schedule against teams that can't get to 30 wins so going 50-32 vs a schedule like that is not impressive.

+1 for the research/knowledge I was too lazy to do ( but had a sense of) to get specifics to refute the cHeat fan's silly claims.

My collusion/assets comments were just stating the obvious. ;D
