Not sure if it's already been posted or is posted in the proper sub-category, but the following clips are of Sterling's interview from 5/12/2014 with Anderson Cooper of CNN.

Lol what a moron.  Just when you think he couldn't dig a deeper hole.

That first clip actually drew a little sympathy from me...then i watched the rest.

Holy crap what a trainwreck.  I can't stop watching.

Sterling seems to hate Magic Johnson for whatever reason... you could see him just suddenly flip a switch when he heard that Magic was attending his game... and suddenly he's like "What's Magic ever done?... he's got AIDS!"...  It's amazing to watch considering the context.   I'm not sure that particular issue is racism... he's got a serious problem with Magic specifically... like he's jealous of him.

Also the undertone of the conversation considering Anderson Cooper is an open homosexual just adds another layer of cringe to it... It's like Sterling has no self awareness at all.

From Cuban to Sterling to everything in between. Those NBA owners meetings must have been a hoot over the years.

I just realized today that I really am a Laker hater.

Old man lunatic to the side...

Is Magic a role model? Put down your sheeple media feeder apparatus for a second.

Magic said before that the game mostly came to him and he didn't have to put in the work like some of his teammates.

He was a legendary Basketball player.
His pre-post marital sexual behavior isn't something I would hold up as a good example.
He never indicated the infection came from a dirty needle at a hospital.
He could/may have passed the infection to others at a time when the mortality rate was not what it is now and he always had the advantage of money to battle this.

Sterling is a loon but he's speaking non P.C.

Unless you wanna say Magic is a role model because he could put a ball in a hoop?
His civic awareness increased after his own staredown with mortality ...he said and wrote as much.

BTW ...I don't think this is the PR mess you think it is.
He looks like a crazy uncle and the more folks who are younger look at Magic the folks will shrug and say...well....he really isn't exactly a role model...

This is not the disaster you think. I think he finally is playing the game.

Wait a minute....this guy is talking junk about Magic's promiscuity... when he has a flipping girlfriend on the side? He is the very definition of delusional.

To Anderson Cooper:  "I think you have more of a plantation mentality than I do, and I think you're more of a racist".

That's a strong argument right there.

I almost have to believe at this point that just because his name is Sterling he thinks he's a "silver tongued devil"   ;D

Sterling is a Racist.
Magic isn't a roll model.

One pointing at the other might feel uncomfortable but both statements are true.

This is a basketball forum and Magic is a hero on the court and became a husband, official father and all around better guy by all accounts after his diagnosis. Better late than never.

Hope he never passed on his disease to someone without insurance and Magic's body and support group (money, doctors, friends, access to latest cocktails of drugs)

Stick to Sterling is a racist instead of feeling bad or giving undue respect to Magic. He was not a good man for a long period of time and ignoring his faults while piling on another seems convenient.

Sterling impacted lives in a bad way (what happened to the folks denied housing?)
Magic impacted lives in a bad way (what happened to the folks he was sexually active with around 1991 and prior?)

Yes, Magic may have infected others, but he may not have.  He also may have been Wilt Chamberlain-esque in his womanizing, but he may not have.  He may not have practiced safe sex, but he may have.  I don't think of Magic as a role model, I think of him as a retired basketball player/ businessman/ bad TV announcer.   Like most people, I presume he's done good things and bad.  We shouldn't worship him, but unless we know of what we speak, it's probably not very nice to condemn him.

You say 'non-PC' as if that's something we should admire regardless of the content.  If he's got dementia or mental illness, I forgive his verbal mistakes. But I don't praise a person for speaking his mind when what he says is unnecessarily unkind.  I like it when political correctness causes people to think twice about the words they use.

BTW, as a 55 year old middle-class (ish) Jewish man, I'd like to know where the interest-free loans are.   No one sent me that memo. But if anyone can connect me to that resource, I have a 200,000 mortgage with 20 years still left -- I'd love to zero out the interest.

Are we really comparing the two? With all the mistresses Donald was known to have, who's to say he never took anything home to his wife. At least Magic is trying to bring awareness about his disease. I don't know how many times in school they showed "The Announcement". Let's be real, with the way some of these athletes are promiscuous, there could be a lot more with that disease. It doesn't take away from his accomplishments.

paidthecost2betheboss I really don't see the point in giving Donald Sterling's garbage about Magic such promotion. But hey focus on 20+ year old sexual behavior instead of the topic at hand I guess.....

My feelings about the matter as well.
