What does everybody think it would take to try and get 2 of the top 8 picks via a trade? Would you give up sully for Parker and Randle combo Or Wiggins and exum? Just wanted to hear everybodys thought

I certainly would, but I don't think Sully is anywhere close to enough to get you a top 8 pick in this draft.  Those picks are going to come at a pretty hefty premium for interested trade partners.

it depends on if one of those picks is 1-4, or if both are 5-8. It would cost all our assets to trade into the top 3 if we don't win the lottery.

The odds of drafting three guys and have them turning out like the big men are really, really small.   I think you have about as much chance as having Harry Potter as your GM.

says who? top 3, probably not.  any of the players predicted from 4-8 are all flawed and I very much believe every one of them could be had for that ridiculous overpayment.

Exum -- unknown quantity of a combo guard that needs to work on his shooting.
Gordon - great defensive swing-forward prospect but with a suspect offensive game
Vonleh - PF/C prospect that isnt' really a rim protector and didn't really excel at anything in particular in college (I'll concede he looks like a good rebounder though)
Randle -- Sully size PF that has an offensive game like Sully for the most part.  plays horrid D (far worse than Sully or KO).  good motor but sully and KO aren't slouches in that area either.
Smart -- known quantity of a combo guard that needs to work on his shooting.

Any of those players could easily be had for Sully, KO AND a Clips pick that's looking more valuable with the Sterling mess.  I wouldn't trade that package for any of those players and would need convincing to make that deal for any of the top 3 since none are in the Lebron/Duncan/Davis level of play at this time.

This is a case where the sound of the pick is not as good as the actual player drafted. While a top 8 pick sound enticing and worth more than Sully in theory, that's not really fully analyzing the possible target. For example, if the pick is #8 and the best player there is Aaron Gordon is that a player that you would trade Sullinger for? Especially when you factor in the makeup of our team. So would you trade Sullinger for Saric, McDermott, Ennis, Harris, or other players in that range?

Strangely, this is the way I see things.

1. Sullinger is not enough to get a top 8 pick in this draft.

2. Sullinger could be better than every player in this draft other than Parker, Wiggins and Embiid and could be better than one of those guys if they bust.

How many of the players in this draft are going to be able to post the numbers Sullinger has so far while playing mostly out of position? Sully is 22 and out of shape, for both good(recovering from back surgery, injuries) and bad(horrible diet, possible bad workout habits) and spent the entire year killing his shooting percentage trying to learn to take the NBA three point shot. If Sully comes back in shape and remains that way you probably want him as a PF over any PF in this draft.

The C's know what they have in Sully. They don't with the players in the draft.

The smart play is to keep Sully rather than trade him for a top 8 pick in this draft, if you even could trade him for a pick that high in this draft

I wouldn't trade sully. Let him have the opportunity this summer to really develop his body, and lose weight like Kevin Love did. If he can transform his body the same way he could be an excellent player!

Rather trade out of the draft. Get young borderline all star young vets who have a bit of experience with our assets.
