I seriously doubt the Rockets would give up Parsons in order to shed Lin and Asik's salary.

Um - in that trade, they are giving him up to get Carmelo Anthony.

Darn right they would.

The only real question in the trade is whether Memphis would actually pull the trigger on moving Gasol.

EDIT:  Okay, I see from follow-up that an earlier version didn't have that.

I think memphis might pull the trigger if 2 things happen

1. OKC comes back to win the series.....heartbreaking and demoralizing for grizz
2. Pau Gasol doesnt sign with the Grizz

If the grizz sign pau...marc will stay of course.......but if not why would he stay? They cant resign zbo and him for big money and memphis isnt a big market team.

One could argue that rondo/bradley/parsons/sully/gasol wouldnt be anybetter than what memphis currently is BUT thy would be bc if Wyc and danny got this deal they would make some more moves....even if they didnt its still a similiar team but bigger market and legacy

not sure how we can trade hump since he expires after this season.

basically we give up Green, both firsts, a PF no longer under contract and Pressey for Gasol, Green-lite and a PG who be a very expensive back up to Rondo

the resulting team still has no go-to scorer which we'd need to succeed in the playoffs.

if we're making a big move, it has to result in a better team than that.

Im not sure bout the whole hump expiring thing...good pt there.

As for go to scorer.....first i think if this happened there would be another trade prly for a scorer....but if not this team may not need one.....post play with sully gasol and KO woulf be tremendous! Parsons can light it up from outside and bradley can play D slash and hit corner three......rondo has all sorts of possabilities and ways to set these guys up......and if its late in the game there will be endless plays.....drive n kick for a three from parsons or bradley....pick n roll with gasol or sully.....an imo i think if we needed or wanted 1 guy to step up and get a basket.....i think sully could he that guy. I would really reallly love this team.....gasol is the smartest center in the league and can score and defend...gives us two all stars rondo and gasol.....and two borderline all stars in sully and parsons.......plus solid rolebplayers in bradley and KO. And wallace Lin off the bench too........plus there is bass and bayless who could be traded for deeper bench or package bradley with em for  scoring SG

if you're postulating another trade, you didn't mention it.  you'd definitely need it to get that scorer.  no one on the team is someone that can put the team on their back offensively night after night in a playoff series.  Parsons offense is no better than Green's in terms of consistancy.  AB is off/on with his shot.   sully and Gasol can each have some 20 point nights, and maybe KO too, but for a team to go deep into the playoffs, it needs someone who's going to give them 20+ every night if not 25-30+ most nights.

this is definitely a playoff team, just one that gets to the second round based on talent and that's about it.

Parsons could step up and a be 20+ player...his avg 16.6 and he has been pretty consistent on the 15-20 ppg really...ibelieve he could make the jump bc A. He wont have Harden chucking all his shots. B. Have a legit pg to grt him the ball where and when he needs it C. Will have BETTER post play with gasol and sully and ko than in houston........with these 3 points i think its reasonable to think he could avg 20 ppg. ....if we get 15ppg from sully gasol rondo and bradley which is 80ppg with no bench on a good defensive squad....whicih wins championships  ;D

As far as getting a scorer
Some realistic possabilities might be:
Dion Waiters
Jodie Meeks
Gordon Hayward
Aaron Afflalo
eric gordon?

I think a package of bradley bass and maybe a future pick can get any of those guys....just off the top of my mind
