I mean a lot of it is based on a shaky premise.  THe idea that this draft is "epic" and that the top 4 guys have a chance to be the Wade/Bosh/Bron/Melo of 2014.

Let's pretend for a second that the premise isn't completely ridiculous and that Embiid, Wiggins, Parker and Exum are all allstars in the making.  Let's say there is a massive drop-off after #4.

There are 3 games left in this season.  This win dropped us from #3 to #5.  By the end of the week we could slip to #7... some bad lotto luck will drop us to #9.  IF you like winning, why wouldn't you root for us to lose?  You wouldn't sacrifice a handful of meaningless games for a shot at securing a franchise player?  I don't understand that at all.

I feel like the anti-tankers don't get the mindset.  We want to lose, because we like winning more than you do.  I don't want 3 wins and then another 26 win season.  I want 3 losses and a decade of 50+ wins.

And yeah, I get the whole "there is no certainty blah blah blah" dance that the anti-tankers throw out.  Whatever.  If we pretend for a second that the experts are right and Embiid, Wiggins, Parker and Exum are beasts... then we should all be 1000% on board with trying to land one of those guys.  If the experts end up being correct and we end up picking 6th thanks to a couple meaningless wins at the tail end of a dreadful 2014 season, I'm pretty certain nobody is going to be happy about it.

It's hilarious in how much rage is going over ONE win. You'd think the Celtics players murdered someone or something.  ;D

This is exactly right...we as fans, Suffered through this horrid season-because we felt that there was a silver lining to it all. Now, with a Top 3 pick practically in hand---we blow that too...So, it's like we wasted an entire season of being bad, for nothing. Insult to injury, cause Brad wants to win a game. Sucks to feel this way, but I do.

Bingo. Then those "anti-tankers" will look back and say, "remember the year we could've had Joel Embiid or Andrew Wiggins? Too bad we missed out!"

Right. I mean I am sure the Indianapolis Colts are happy they decided to tank two years ago and secure Andrew Luck vs winning a few more games and likely drafting Ryan Tannehill.

The tankers probably wish some Celtics had murdered someone so that the team would be forced to play short-handed while those players sort out their legal woes, leading to more losses.

This is just hysterical! One win and everyone going crazy! I can only imagine the reaction if the Celtics win tomorrow!

You've each gotten your TP.

For another, just simply come clean.

Exactly. What was Sully doing in there in the 4th quarter with a sprained ankle? Besides, the last thing we need is for him to develop a chronic ankle problem like Bradley's.

This is what I see when I read this thread.

"Strategy?  Strategy?  What?  You all are so naive if you believe in a strategy.  All the experts are stupid.  STUPID!  And they don't know anything.  And there is no difference between the 1st pick and the 5th pick and the 18th pick because 2007 and Tim Duncan.  Win every game no matter what.  NO STRATEGY!  And anyone who cares about a long term vision of improving the team through the draft:  IDIOTS!  That's what I call them.  Hustle and win is the only strategy and we will win  the championship if we win games.  Win games!  Cause I love the Celtics, I am blind to any other possible strategy of improving besides:  Win the next game.

I'm upset because with this one win our chance of getting a top 3 pick dropped about 10%. Not to mention this ruins our chances of catching Orlando AND we're tied with Utah when we have to still play Philly again this season(which means another win, where Utah could pass us). What did we gain with the win?

Before tonight we had a 42.4% chance a top 3 pick. Now we have a 33.7% chance. If Utah passes us (which isn't too unlikely now) we would move down to a 29.1% chance at a top 3 pick. I understand wanting your team to win, but it's just silly to think it will be more beneficial to win these last few games than lose them.

Even if you don't think stars are at the top of the draft, or if you think there isn't a big difference from pick number 2 to pick number 4, other people do. Some of these other people are GM's that would gladly trade for a higher pick. The higher the pick, the higher the value. Why not give trader Danny a better asset by dropping some meaningless games? It could be a big difference maker in how quick we return to contention.

was at the game last night. this is a bad win. my friend and I were both baffled by how much everyone wanted to win. at least show some inner conflict people. LOL

my friend was openly cheering for the bobcats. sorry, but i could not bring myself down to that level.

i not only shamelessly want my TP, but I want 2 more in honor of my friend.
