I am concerned that Danny will trade our lottery pick for a veteran, given the incubation period it takes for young uns to be able to contribute, and the desire to rebuild with Rondo fast. This philosophy resulted in the trade of rookie Joe Johnson for Rogers and Delk. ( Thank you Chris Wallace.) I hope that Danny doesn't apply the "Doc Rivers view" of rookies (only thing good about rookies is that they eventually are no longer rookies). Danny did this when he traded pick 5 for Ray Allen (yes, that worked out) and gave up pick 6 for Sebastian Telfair. Could have gotten Rudy Gay or Brandon Roy (pre-injury, of course) instead. (I know, we got Ratliff expiring contract that enabled the KG deal.)
I have a gut feeling that Danny's market value of some of these top guys, like Wiggens, is lower than some other GM's, and that we are going to end up without a lottery pick on draft night. And since there are no KG types in the horizon, I really hope we don't.
