Ive seen a few reports that Parker is leaning towards staying at Duke. How would this shake up the draft if he does decide to stay?

Certainly wouldn't help make the case for tanking this year

Does this mean that BleedGreen might end up sporting that "Sorry for Jabari" tagline in his profile for another 365+ days?

Low seed for Embiid?

And I doubt he stays. He's going to end up declaring.

Me too.

That's a lot of money to turn down and risk a back issue, ACL, or just a lack of development tank your draft stock downwards.

If he somehow makes such a terrible decision as to turn down a guaranteed top 3 selection in the NBA draft, putting off and even jeopardizing the goal he's been working towards his whole life, in order to labor gratis for a good old boy club with billions of dollars in endowment in cahoots with a borderline criminal entertainment cartel, I really will feel sorry for Jabari.

I don't think we're allowed to use that sort of language about other people's religious beliefs.

It's not a great decision financially but if Parker really does value being in college enough to choose to stick around, that's his prerogative.  Heck. Timmy Duncan passed on being the likely #1 pick twice, and he turned out ok.

Well he was planning on being an Olympic Swimmer until he was, what, 16?

So, actually, Tim Duncan's kind of a failure.  ;D

He's a lock for a top 3/4 pick this year (and might go #1). Given the risk of injury, and the fact that he can't really improve his stock that much (the worst I can see him going is 4 this year...and jumping from 4 to 1 is not gigantic, if he ends up staying and going #1 next year), I think its highly unlikely he returns.

The number one pick does make quite a bit more money than even the 4th pick.

2.5 million more in just the first two years that are guaranteed.

Playing with Okafor, and the change to win a title, is probably a huge factor.

Personally I would try to win then intentionally lose.
