Several Bigs in our draft range that I would take above Larry Sanders. Not a complete BBall player. More of a one trick pony. Also Assik or Gortat would be way better investments.

and ALL of this, could have been avoided---if Ainge had drafted Marc Gasol....instead, we got Gabe Pruitt....we'd probably have at least one more Championship too.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Larry loves the weed

Yes to Larry Sanders.

I love that instead of lying and talking about how "sorry he is to all the people he's hurt by his actions . . . blah . . . blah . . . blah . . . ", he's telling the truth as he sees it.

I like that.

I posted this in another thread and think it's appropriate for this  one:

It depends on what you have to concede in a trade for a rim protector and if you can actually get one in the draft. Washington traded their 1st (#16 subject to change) for Gortat and that is looked at as a win for Phoenix even though Gortat is averaging 12 and 9.

Rim protectors are at a premium, you have to empty the cupboard for one unless they're unproven (which is why I was dumbfounded when posters here didn't like the KG and Doc for DeAndre and a 1st trade) or there's 2 on 1 team (Howard+Asik and Sanders+Embiid?).

If Asik is made available for 1 or 2 of Bass/Wallace/Humphries/Bayless/2nd round picks, he should be the target. If Houston demands an asset, you hold or move on (like what happened in December). Asik is a good player, but if you have to give up anything more than the Clippers 2015 1st, you're giving up too much value for Asik on a 1 year $15M contract in a Rockets situation that he's not going to be in past 2015.

If Sanders is made available for BKN's 2014 1st and/or LAC's 2015 1st, he should be seriously considered.

If the Celtics brass thinks they can draft one that can be better than those 2 in the near future, you draft him.

I prefer to build using the framework set (Sullinger, Rondo, Bradley, BOS 2014 1st) and adding the best pieces possible, instead of gutting the team for a superstar.

Despite this seasons' W/L results, I think this team is an elite scorer and rim protector away from serious contention. I prefer to have:

Rondo
Bradley (acquiring Wiggins or Exum eventually pushing Bradley to the bench)
Green (acquiring Parker eventually pushing Green to the bench)
Sullinger
Sanders/Asik

+ the assets, cap space, and depth. Than have:

Rondo
Johnson
Wallace
Love
Humphries/Anthony

Minnesota rejected an offer of the 2013 #1 1st, Thompson, and Waiters for Love (coming off of an injury riddled and down year). Whoever is able to acquire Love via trade is going to be gutted (think Nuggets-Knicks Carmelo and Jazz-Nets Williams trades). Minnesota for Love after this season? 2 1st, Sullinger, Olynyk, and Bradley/Green might be the asking price (good thing Ainge would never agree to that).

3 reasons why I prefer the former:

1) Love is not KG and defense wins Championships

2) Sullinger is going to be one of the best players in the league in the next 2-3 years

3) Sullinger, Olynyk, Bradley, Wiggins/Exum/Parker are going to be more valuable than Love in less than 2 years.

There is a lot more to Sanders being an idiot than what he said about weed.

Hopefully, we can get a better player than either Asik or Sanders, but...

Joel+Bogans for Asik makes sense, straight up. If you are taking care of Asik's extra 7M off the cap (still a lot of money) and save Morey up to 12M due to Bogans unguaranteed contract, it's fair value. If you're giving up a better asset for Asik, Morey is winning the trade, don't do it.

Joel+Bogans+Clipper's 2015 pick makes sense. It's a bit riskier, but you could have Sanders on reasonable money (look at how much are mediocre centers making around the NBA) for 4 years if he focus on basketball. Has Blount/LaFrentz potential risk, but it's worth it. Giving up a better pick or player is not worth it.

Both guys can be decent starters for a team with Rondo/Green/Sully, but both are limited players. If value is right, ok, if not, avoid them.

What is the fascination with Sanders? He does one thing great, puts up blocks. So what? Embiid is going to have a much better season next year. He isn't Hakeem yet but he could be. Sanders is incredibly overrated here. I'm not sure why. I don't want a guy like that influencing younger players to smoke before games. The only one on the Bucks that I would give up our 2nd pick for is the Greek Freak. That dude is going to be amazing. So much athleticism. [dang] you Ainge!!!

He's a great anchor and he will mesh well with Rondo IMO. He can erase Rondo's gambles and he can dunk and finish around the rim. Plus he's young. The weed problems concern me (more than the fights and injuries) because it has the potential to go beyond knucklehead-ism. Kind of like Beasley.

I agree....TP.....,I don't get it either.    He reminds me of Jordon on the Clippers with a poor attitude .....and I'm NOT a fan of Jordon at all.

Blatche, Jordon and Sandes ......put em in a bag shake it up and out pours the same deal......no,thanks."..........small Dwight s

Sanders wishes he were Jordan.  Jordan turned out to be very good other than free throw shooting.  And Jordan is the NBA's current ironman.  Sanders never plays.

I think the fascination with Larry Sanders is that what this team most glaringly needs is a defensive interior presence.  Larry Sanders can provide that, and he might come relatively cheap.

Just looking at the new RPM stat on ESPN and guess who is number one for defensive real plus-minus? Larry Sanders, that's who!

This true....unfortunately

Sanders is like the scarecrow on wizard of oz ....

If he "only had a brain"

No thank you.
