I hope GMs drafting ahead of us sour on Wiggins and we're able to snatch him up with like, the 5th or 6th pick overall. I still think he will turn out to be the best player in the draft.

There is no reason to give up a million dollars to play ONE more year in school.

If they stay two and risk injury , might as well get your degree .

Extraordinary freshmen should leave

Embiid will leave,  have the best medical treatment money can buy and sigh a contract to secure his future,

To come back,  risk getting hurt again is dumb .  , maybe lose everything and shot at big money , when your still  guareentee of being ca top ten draft.

I gotta tell you guys I hate almost ALL of these players. Wiggins seems to be way too soft, both in the way he plays and how much he cares. Anyone see the absurd presser where he had no idea who a key Stanford player was and he was laughing? The joke was on him. I hope LA gets him, that's how much I like him. Go ahead, build around that idiot.

Parker hardly showed up for various games. I am shocked how useless he is when he isn't scoring. And he can be inconsistent

I'm suppose to love Embiid(still, I did), when he doesn't play even a little while injured against a huge Stanford team?

I like Randall.  I like everything about his attitude and how he plays. He is the antithesis of Embiid, Wiggins and Parker. He has been clutch, he is always trying, and he knows how to play. BUT Yes he is too small.

At this point, I'd pick Aaron Gordon and be happy about it. With a second pick I would be very happy to grab Cleanthony Early. I saw some of his other games and I think today was really what he can do. He has game and drive, unlike how I feel about Wiggins right now.

I hate McDermott as much as almost any of the higher profile guys.

Fwiw, I was about 850th out of the 3.5 mill in my brackets last year on yahoo, and am about 12,000 right now out of 4.5 mill. My last 4 are all still alive.  I was also 2nd of a bracket of 180 3 years ago. Just saying I might not be a complete fool.

Maybe trading Rondo for established players and drafting Exum is a great move. If anyone knows Exum is really that good. But I sure don't know that.

If anyone can tell me Randle is still growing and/or is so quick and athletic that he can play both forward positions, ok. He is a winner FOR SURE.

They won't sour on him,  they might play games and rumors

The six best players are the six best prospects ....the rest are just second rate hopefuls.

Six guys can become instant millionaires , learn in the NBA and have the best medical treatment available and rehab staff.
Stay for what .... ? If you want a national championship ...it may cost you 10 or 20 million  ??? And still might not win...if you buddies leave for the NBA ..then what?.....

I these guys are really smart they will leave .

Not me I'm taking the money this year.....you only live once.
No GM with a top five pick is not going to take these guys .....if they say so then they are lying their tails off.  ;D..the reward they ll turn star one day out ways the bust risk too much.....not taking these guys should be a firing offense.

Wiggins , Randle, Parker, Embiid , Smart, Exum  will all go in some order in the first six picks

I still say Parker ...Embiid .....Wiggins go.   1, 2,3

Joakim Noah probably disagrees.  He was predicted as a possible first overall pick but chose to play one more year in college.

You must not he familiar with whom Joakim's parents are. They were pretty successful athletes themselves.

Real easy to make the choice to stay in school when your family already has money. Sure, it is a reason, but one very few potential NBA players have to fall back on.

I'm pretty familiar with who his parents are.  I've certainly made enough jokes about how a former Miss Sweden can have a son who looks like him.  I just tend to call people out for making blanket statements that aren't true.

From what I have read about Jabari Parker's family, I wouldn't be shocked if his decision is based on something other than money.  I really do get the feeling that he might end up being a non-headcase Michael Beasley and I have no idea if that means he is more likely to become an All-Star or a disappointment.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
One or two bad games in an extremely simplified college system where the strength of individual players is drastically reduced isn't going to hurt them.

They have a combination of skill, size and athleticism that contributes to the majority of their draft stock.
A two game sample size will have have the impact of a soft fart against a brick wall.
Look at how many other games these guys have taken over in this horrid NCAA system.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Wiggins will be a star in the NBA.  I think the hype was plenty warranted.  College ball is different from the pros.  He'll flourish when he finally gets into the NBA in 2015.

Lol.

You're incorrigible.

A couple weeks ago it was "We're about to go on a run and play ourselves out of the lottery!"

Now it's "The best players in the draft are all gonna stay in school!"

Whatever it takes to get people going, I guess.

do you really think Tanking for these inconsequential players was/is worth it? Didn't Camelo Anthony win the NCAA as a freshman before bailing? Was he worth a tank effort?

Tanking has as much to do (if not more so) with the VALUE of the pick in trade  as it does with who you actually select with the pick.

If Danny actually ends up making this pick, we are in for an incredibly long rebuild...most likely without Rondo.

So yes, tanking is worth it because the value of the 8th pick vs. the 4th pick is huge. It could be the difference between winning or losing in the trade battle for KLove.

The real question for me is: is it worth suffering through a 20-something win season only to not go after the highest pick possible at the end when it is sitting there waiting for you?

Yeah the only thing that has happened by several lottery picks team getting beat ,  is to confuse and upset fans.

Upsets happen all the time .  I think fans are just overreacting .  If these guys were are 4 th year seniors ...then I could justify the knee jerk reaction to some bad games.

The deal is , if your a GM , you want to be first in line to claim certain talent .  Even though all these guys  need considerable growing up and polish to be NBA starters.  What GM who has a chance to get one of these guys says ,  oh forget it I'll just take a older guy and let another GM have a potential MJ .

All these young guys ready of not will enter and be taken by eager GMs drooling and praying their lottery ticket pays off.

I still think Randle will be putting up double double games by the end of his rookie season.  The rest may take another year or two develop

upsets do happen, and it isn't necessarily that their teams lost, it is how badly these players looked in the loss that is the problem.  Texas lost in the second round in 06-07, but Durant still went for 30 points and 9 rebounds in the loss.   John Wall took Kentucky to the elite 8 and put up 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists in the losing game.  Even Kyrie Irving who played just 11 games for Duke went for 28 points in 31 minutes in Duke's Sweet Sixteen loss (he also added 3 assists and 1 steal with just 1 turnover).   Carmelo Anthony and Anthony Davis led their teams to titles.

In other words, the freshman that have come in and had more immediate impacts had huge games in the NCAA tournament even if their teams ended up getting upset early.  Losing isn't the problem for Wiggins and Parker, it is losing and not showing up that is the problem for Wiggins and Parker, and is not a good sign for their immediate impact future.

Hahahahahahaha Ok.

I spent like 5 minutes on my bracket and I lucked my way into the 99th percentile on ESPN.  Means nothing.
