All I know is, LeBron James won ZERO College games.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

In this thread you will find people overreacting to one poor game in an otherwise great season for both Parker and Wiggins.

True. It's pretty ridiculous.

People were trashing Parker the other day too.

Yep. Let's see, how did Larry Bird do as a freshman at Indiana? Oh, that's right, he dropped out of school after one month and went home to French Lick, where he later enrolled in community college.

Wiggins will be a star in the NBA.  I think the hype was plenty warranted.  College ball is different from the pros.  He'll flourish when he finally gets into the NBA in 2015.

I have no doubt that Andrew Wiggins will be a very good NBA player, but I do have my doubts that he'll be a transcendent superstar on the level of someone like Lebron James, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Kevin Durant or Magic Johnson.

And, after all, that was the original point of this whole "tank fest" idea.  It wasn't to get a guy who might make a few All Star games and have a solid pro career.

Can you honestly say that from what you've seen that you are convinced that he'll fit into that former category of players?
Yes.  It will be more obvious next year when he's tearing up at Kansas as a Sophomore.

I doubt Wiggins stays in school. Jabari probably will though. If all these players stay say hello to Celtics tankapalooza version 2 next year.

Unless we see some significant moves we'll either be tanking again or we'll be on our way to a 36 win season around Rondo.

Danny was right about the overhype of the 2014 draft (expecially top 3).

Parker - Body needs work. Defense needs work. Needs to increase stamina.

Wiggins - No left hand like Jeff Green. Passive, inconsistent.

Embiid - lost, raw, indecisive

These guys need work. Definitely the talent is there, but are ways away from being finished products.  If they work on the things i listed above, by next season or whenever, you will see Danny desperately trying to draft one of them. Right now he looks like he will be satisfied with a pick from 5-10.

Fans are desperate for a top 3 pick. Danny is not. I trust Danny's judgement

I am rooting for Parker and Embiid to stay in school so I can see how people and teams react.

Embib is likely to stay in school unfortunately. That is all that these loses really mean. Would be surprised if Parker or Wiggins backed out. Wiggins was most suspect. Only players in the top five that really excite me are Embib, Parker, Dante Exum not wild about Wiggins or Smart may be Gordon at 10th if we drop down. With Embib likely out, I would go with Exum - not too shabby and if Gordon is gone there are lots of enticing options at 17 - this is Danny's sweet spot.

This Draft is so deep is almost worth seeing if we could keep our second and trade our first pick for a late 1st and an early 2nd round pick.

I find this whole topic rather confusing?? We will be in the lottery because we are not that good, not because we are tanking!!! We wouldn't be a contender this year no matter what we did!!
Why are people not hopping that we can get a decent future player??
Also, no one has any idea how good these players will be.  I hope Wiggens will be an all-star!! The NBA needs stars.  The real challenge is trying to figure out who will be a future star in this draft.  Why? Because we aren't that good and will have a top 10 pick!!  So I for one would Love one of the top 3 players!!

why isn't Randle getting the same love the other four (Wiggins, Parker, Embid, and Exum) are getting?

I like Randle, I would love to get him in this draft.  I just hope we get a player that really helps the future.

I still think we will be trading our high draft pick. Most likely both of them.

He's undersized for his position, has T-Rex arms, and we have a glut of Powerforwards already.
