I would like to go either wiggins or Parker with our first or Embiid if available and stauskas with our 2nd first. A core of rondo stauskas Parker/wiggins Sullinger Olynk as our longterm pieces would be promising. Who would you guys take? And why?

I don't mind any of the top 5
Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Exum, Randle

If we someonehow play above 500 from now until the end of the year and pick 6-9
Warren, Mcdermott, Gordon (Vonleh has really fallen off the map imo)

For our 2nd 1st pick (17-20)
WCS, Stauskus, Capela, Micic,  Birch

At this rate, no way Mcdermott or Warren don't get chosen in the 7-12 area. There is no reason why a guy like Smart should go ahead of these two scoring machines.

On a side note it's interesting how some guys slide up and down in some mock drafts over the year.  Vonleh was rising now may be rising.  Levine was a hot name a couple months back, but has cooled off.

Rondo stauskas wiggins/Parker green Sullinger would that lineup work or is the lack of a defensive presence and rebounder to great? I mean we really haven't had a true center all year but Stevens had made it work.

Rondo stauskas green Sullinger Embiid? Playoff starting 5?

Warren doesn't have a reliable 3 point shot though, which could project him as a poor man's Evan Turner without the play making or a poor man's Demar Derozan without the athleticism.

Either way your looking at a high usage rate player that opposing defenses can shut down by packing the paint. I see him as more 16-23 range.

I think we need a bigger C that plays by the hoop. Sullinger is going to have a decent 3 and can play more of a Garnett-meets-Antione (think about it) style inside/outside presence. Sully will play best guarding PFs - if he slims down just a little - because he wont have to constantly be fighting down low (which is the only way he can make up for his lack of size at C). A quicker/less worn down version of Sully is a championship team worthy starting PF.

I agree. Still need Rondo, Sully, and a big C (Embiid??) - this is an amazing core.. and the C's still have assets to get upgraded at the SG/SF position - either through pick #2 or trades.

Latest nbadraft.net mock has us taking Smart (PG) and Elfrid Payton (PG).  Wow, we're going to be loaded at the PG spot.

What makes you so sure about Sully's 3? He went 1 for 5 from the 3 as a rookie, and is at .241 after 170 attempts as a sophomore. Embiid and KO, IMO, could however be a killer frontcourt.

If we pick 5 or lower, then I'd like Aaron Gordon (yes, over Randle and Smart). Not sure if we'd make the top 4, but if we do manage to crack it hopefully we can get Parker.

With the second 1st, Nik Stauskas aka JJ Redick 2.0 is my choice.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
With us currently having the 5th best record we could end up picking 1,2,3 by winning the lottery, we can't pick fourth, but we could pick 5th, or 6th, 7th or 8th (if teams jump us during the lottery).

So for those picks we are looking at Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Exum, Randle, Gordon, Smart, Vonleh. I expect one of those players to end up on our team (they are listed in my order of preference).

I don't see the Nets catching the Bulls for the 5th spot in the East so I expect their pick to be in the 16-18 range. At these spots I expect them to be picking out of Stauskas, Willie Cauley-Stein, Nurkic, Gary Harris, TJ Warren, Adrian Payne and PJ Hairston.

In the end I expect them to draft one big and one wing scorer. So at this point if I had to guess I think we end up with Exum and WCS.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Ideally we end up with the opportunity to get Wiggins or Embiid with our first pick, I don't think Parker is going to leave Duke.  I'd love to see Stauskas in green, too.  Really down on Gordon, I think he's too much of a tweener to really be successful.

I'm assuming luck doesn't go our way and we end up picking in the 5-8 range.

Based on that, I'm hoping for Aaron Gordon and one of Stauskas, Hood, Warren, Harris, or Young.

Gordon, I think can give us a far more well-rounded, though lower scoring, replacement for Jeff Green.

Any one of the other guys, I think, could provide useful wing depth.  Especially Stauskas or Hood -- we really lack capable outside shooters at the moment, which is why the team has resorted to signing D-Leaguers i.e. Johnson and Babb.

None of the picks I mentioned addresses the team's greatest need -- rim protector.  I don't think we're getting that in this draft unless we end up with a top 3 pick and take Embiid, however.  I suppose Cauley-Stein could fall to our second 1st rounder, which would at least give us a project big with the potential to be a rim protector.

I'd agree with this -- with the Caveat that I'd take Smart over Gordon, I think.
