What's worse on top of all it, next year Kobe comes back, Pau will be healthy, plus their current talent, and a top 5 pick in the draft on top of being a desitnation place for free agents.  Next year with a Big 3 of Kobe, Pau and Draft pick plus whatever free agent goes there. They could be challenging for a title quicker then us.

On the other hand, Kobe's breaking down, and Pau will be a free agent and might not re-sign with them.

Additionally, D'antoni is still their coach.  That alone kills any chance of title contention within the near future.

I love how the highlights from that game were just clipper dunks and kupchecks sorrow. It was like an and1 mixtape video. Lakers are a joke and should be fined for having such a joke of a roster this year. I mean they had a player legit take a cat nap on the bench and ran out of players at one point. That's just unacceptable from a basketball, business, and entertainment standpoint. Love it though hope the lakers crash and burn with a decrepit Kobe at the helm. But hey it's the NBA they will most likely get the 1 pick in the draft.

pretty much my fear. but a strange part of me thinks it would be great if both the Celtics and Lakers each drafted franchise players this year and this could be a rivalry again.

I've been thinking that too.

If the guys at the top of this draft are as good as they're hyped up to be (huge if, of course) we have a real chance at some kind of Magic/Bird situation developing again, say between Wiggins and Parker for instance.  As much as I hate the Lakers that'd be pretty cool.

Lol....imagine what teams like the Lakers, Sixers, Bucks and Celtics will look like the final week of the regular season.

Don't be surprised if to see some of their players come out blindfolded.
I think it's time to shut down Rondo for the season.

There's still a very good shot that this team "clicks" over the final 20 games and goes on a pointless mini run that destroys our future.

I wouldn't worry about that.

If the Celts end up getting a crappy pick it will be because of the lottery.

If I am going to be worried about anything, the Celtics "going on a run" probably wouldn't be on that list (lol.)

Either going on a pointless run that destroys our future, or Rondo/Sully going down with a hard injury (knocks on wood). My worries!

Winning a few games = destroying the future.  ???
This is just so wrong in so many levels I don't even know where to start. Well I guess the start is this "losing is winning" junk system...

Celtics fans wanting the Lakers to draft a star? Nope, I hope they draft some absolute bust. The NBA probably wants that, but there is no advantage for us seeing them winning championships.

Let's just start praying and using charms for our "future" that is all in this "lottery".
Goal for next season: Top 2 seed.
Say goodbye to: Turner, Zeller, Sully.

With 20 games left in a throw away season, it is pointless to go all out and win games. If they want to throw in a couple of wins against quality teams, then I am fine with that. It's something they can hang their hats on going into the offseason (like the Green buzzer beater vs the Heat).

Nobody is here because they want to see the Cs lose, but getting a top 4 pick is much better than the 8th or 9th pick. There just isn't enough to gain by watching our team win meaningless games with less than 1/4 left in the season.

Can they be any more obvious

Yeah, who could possibly lose both of their games to a team that bad this season?

I got a real chuckle when after showing the replay of Gasol's one-man fast break early in the game the announcers mentioned that he might have gotten away with an "extra step".....When Sportcenter's and Fox Sport's nightly highlight reel shows the messiah taking 2-3 extra steps before dunking.

I can understand the sentiment, but I for one want to see the Lakers franchise get lost in the woods like we did for 20+ years.  That franchise has been 50+ win team for pretty much it's entire existence.  They're overdue for a bad run.
