Boy, that Rondo-Stevens tandem is working really well, isn't it.

Clearly, this ambiguous and out of context comment is a sign that Rondo is a head-case and needs to be dumped for the sake of the team, because his working relationship with Stevens is forever doomed. Also, something about free throw shooting. Grrrr Rondo sux.

Is this the new "grasping as straws to create controversy" theme of the week?

After watching that video, it seems to be much ado about nothing.

So what you're saying is...

We should trade Rondo for Asik/Lin?
"I bomb atomically, Socrates' philosophies and hypotheses
Can't define how I be dropping these mockeries."

Is the glass half-full or half-empty?
It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

a captain should not contradict his coach in the press about anything related to the team, no matter how he feels. this just sends the wrong message, no matter the intent. and given Rondo's smarts, it was probably intentional.

Seriously?

KG and Pierce did this ALL the time with Doc. Not to mention this happens all the time in every sport with any kind of player.

Its not realistic to expect something like that nor do i think that is what should happen. Maybe you didnt phrase it how you wanted but dont get this line of thinking

You can watch it yourself.

kozlodoev is reading more than whats there into it. Just sounds tired and down about the loss shooting off cliches for the most part.

Not much to see here. I like rondo. He is the opposite of brad Stevens in some ways. Stevens sees the positives in just about everything, and answers questions with positive sincerity. Meanwhile rondo is clearly bored of having the same lame media questions lobbed to him day after day, and responds with short or sarcastic answers.

"What do you think about getting some revenge against Brooklyn and seeing Paul and Kevin?"

....his reponse is just a shrug. He knows the team isnt very good, and he is not want to chat about his relationships with other teammates past or present. Somethings are fine to keep as personal. And now is not the time to think about revenge games. The celtics just dont have the firepower.

But if he gets a unique question like the ones about the little boy, he will give a meaningful answer.

Rondo is a pain in the butt, but he is competitive, talented and smart. I'll take that. And i think Srevens will take that too.

Rondo will see a good practice when he sees the foundation of a winner.

I think it was Ryan Hadfield who wrote that Rondo has zero use for the media.

I wouldn't exactly disagree with that comment.

I think that's a much bigger knock on his professionalism than skipping the Sacramento game, actually.

You could probably say the same "zero use for the media" thing about Greg Popovich. No?

I don't think its necessarily a knock on Rondo's professionalism at all.  It's just that Rondo doesn't care for the media and its pretty evident.  He speaks in front of them because he has to, not that he necessarily wants to.  (Although, I'm not exactly clear on what the rules are governing player/media relations in the NBA, so I could actually be wrong there).

There's been plenty of professional athletes that just don't give a [dang] about the media or simply despise them.

I don't think that's a knock on their professionalism.  Just a part of their character.

The big ones:
Practices must be open to reporters, either at the beginning or end, for 15 minutes, down from 30.

• Locker rooms will be open before games for 30 minutes, down from 45. However, both coaches will speak before that window begins. Most coaches previously spoke during the 45-minute window.

• Players must be available within 45 minutes after a game ends.

Being difficult about it is lame (there are exceptions to that, though. 'Both teams played hard' is gold). The people covering the game are there doing a job. The people playing in the game are mandated to make themselves available to the media, otherwise they get fined. It can be as painless as you make it - although the routine questions definitely wear on all parties involved. Sack up and answer the questions or take the fine, but the holier-than-thou bit is super annoying.
