It's clear that we won't be able to put it together for 2014/2015 to me, at this point. ...but, I think we can potentially put together a contender for 2015/2016.

This team needs a center, and a shooting guard. There are TONS of great centers unrestricted free agents in 2015/2016 (Gasol, Hibbert, Robin Lopez, Asik, and LaMarcus Aldridge, though he's really a PF to name a few).

There are far fewer shooting guards. If we have Rondo, Green, and Sully/Olynyk/Bass - and we can assume we will be able to get a free agent center in 2015, we need to draft a shooting guard.

Wiggins is the best available at that position. Agree? Disagree?

Andrew Wiggins is considered as a SF.

Among shooting guards, I'm not sure if he is the best prospect, but I am intrigued by Bogdan Bogdanovic.

I want to hear Tommy talk about Bogdanovic.

You might be able to play Wiggins at the 2 with Green at the 3, but I'm not sure you'd want to.

So can I ask why you think that?  I have wondered about Wiggins becoming a 2 in the NBA.  Wiggins seems to have good range on his 3 point shot, is a good defender.  Is it a Q of maximizing his potential?  Ie you think we get more out of him as a 3 than a 2?

Wiggins is going in the top 2.

Boston will be picking 15th after they win 15 of the next 20 games.

Not happening.  We're making the playoffs this year.

Absolutely.

Boston will be lucky to end up with Nick Stauskis for a SG.

Playoffs or bust baby!

Chad Ford has him as a SG. It's not cut and dry that he's a SF. If he can defend the 2, why wouldn't you play him at the 2? He needs to shoot better from outside, but he's still a decent shooter.

I think what makes Wiggins so intriguing is his ability to play either the 2 or the 3.

It seems to me Boston has about a 20% chance of getting one of the top two picks (Embiid or Wiggins).

I like Embiid but not sure at this point if we should draft him. Potential is SKY high, but his back and knees worries me. For a 19 year old to have that many injury problems definitely is enough for me to put the red flag on him. But then again, we got Sully at 19 when he got red flagged so who knows...

Yeah, he has enough skill, size and speed to play either position. Like a young Mcgrady his handle might be too sloppy to play guard right away. But give him a couple more years and i think he is just a wing that can play either position equally well.

He already has enough speed and defensive ability to be fairly effective guarding either position. I hope we get to see him play some other top guards and forwards in the tournament.

I'd prefer both Jabari and Embiid to him, but if the other two are gone, it would be great to see him playing in Green.

I honestly don't know. I don't follow college hoops enough to say one way or the other - I just knew that he was playing a lot of 3 in the NCAA, and seems to have been tagged a SF rather than a guard for his entire career. That's where I was going with that - comfort level on the player's part.

I know LooseCannon doesn't want to see the Celtics play Wiggins at the 2 because Bradley's his binkie.

So we get some random center in 2015 free agency to pair with Sullinger who can't stay healthy, Green who is mediocre, Rondo who is 30 and often injured, and Wiggins who is a SF playing SG and some how that is a contending team.  I don't buy it at all.
