i think he looks terrific.  Looks like a top 5 PG this past month.  I don't really think he's going to get much better than this.

We're still losing most our games, though... need some hall of famers around him if we want to win 40+ games.

Doesn't have to be Hall of Famers...maybe some more All Stars, but that's not the purpose of this year anyways. That Pacers game was way more competitive than I thought it was going to be. I can deal with those type of losses.

Yep, Rondo is great, and if we can keep him and add 2 stars we are in good shape. But do we pay him a max deal and limit our cap space without having 2 other legit stars in place? Those stars should also be vets, not rookies, as even the best rookies will need a few years to be ready to contend for a title.

With all the posts I've seen over the years about how he needs to be on the court with HOFers to get his assists they must be on the team already. We just need to identify them and not trade/cut them and we'll be contending in no time.

In general, though, he's probably been playing like a top 5 pg but he's also a ways from being healthy. He's still pretty light on explosiveness and lateral movement.

He's still working his way back physically from the injury I think he'll get a lot better
"7ft PG. Rondo leaves and GUESS WHAT? We got a BIGGER point guard!"-Tommy on Olynyk

I doubt it.  He's shooting career high percentages over the past month.  That's not going to last.  He might get a bit more explosive, but I think what you're seeing here is pretty much what we can expect... which is pretty darn good.

He's just about about averaging his career numbers except with better percentages from the line and 3, both of which are hopefully permanent improvements. He has looked good though, still a long ways before he's 100%.

I doubt it... he shot 23%/20%/50% his first month and 48%/40%/85% his second month... he's somewhere in the middle.

He's playing about as well as he's ever played.  It's a great thing.  I wouldn't hold your breathe on him playing much better than this.

Lol man, the goal posts keep on shifting on how good he's going to be post injury. Considering how poorly he's shooting around the rim, a clear indicator of rustiness, and that he's still only played 15 games....I'll hold my breath on more improvement.

So far his season averages are about what I expected.  His averages for the month of February are far better than I expected.  Here's hoping he continues to improve.

That would be AMAZING if Rondo transformed overnight from shooting 28% from three, 55% from FT to suddenly a 37% three point shooter and 76% ft shooter...

Is there any precedent of a player going from bad shooter to good at age 28?

He's right. Rondo's still got a ways to go physically before he's at full strength. You could expect that within the next year. He may or may not get better but it's far from unlikely since he's spent the last few(+) years in a system that didn't suit him and sacrificing his stats to try and wring more production out of the big 2/3.

This statement being based on what?
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I agree, February has been a pleasant surprise minus the losses. Or I guess....plus the losses. But it's not like this happened over night. For more than a year all he could do was shoot. I mean, there was a thread about how guys come back from knee injuries better shooters.

As for your question, I'm not sure. Wade's an improved shooter this year, and he's 32, although he's never really been bad.

Watching the team play? Noticing that his production increases when one of PP/KG/RA were injured? Noticing that his role (and production) increased as their level of play decreased? Any number of things.
