9-10M/yr.

I don't see him succeeding in the team's current state though. I think in a rebuilding situation, he'll develop some very bad habits that will be hard to break. He'll be like the next Jordan Crawford and his defense might slip into inconsistency. Or maybe a Ricky Davis type.

He is a good player , but no more than a 3rd or 4th best player on a contender .

Plus the guy is a scumbag

Quote
ndiana Pacers draft pick Lance Stephenson allegedly threw his girlfriend, Jasmine Williams, down the stairs and “slammed” her head into the bottom stair because she wouldn’t pick up her phone while she was apparently on a girls’ night out.

A friend of Williams’s dad told the Daily News, “He was calling her cell phone, she wasn’t answering. This wasn’t the first time this happened…The father spoke to [Stephenson's] parents before. They said, ‘We aren’t going to call the cops and mess up his career but this has to stop. Enough is enough.’”

Pass.....
With this tidbit expect the knicks to offer him the maximum

So you guys think we should get rid of Sully ASAP, right?
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I like him as a player, but he's not the kind of player this team needs to be targeting right now.  No thanks.

Another speciality player........great one ....you acquire once you have the ...pair of elite scorers or stars already on your team.

This team needs way too many other people first....he is for a team already completed

Getting the pair of stars , draft, trade or how ever is first crisis and get a decent center is just critical ,  we have no defensive presence under the boards .

Danny's draft pick could answer a lot of questions including Rondos return.

I actually think he's got the potential to be a superstar. I'll reply to the other quote below with some stats...

Give him nothing.
He is only played good due to the fact that he is playing on the Pacers. Put him on the Celtics and see him decline very fast. He isnt a "star" player as many of you guys make him.

Not sure what you're basing this argument on?
Actually you could argue that on the Pacers he's being held back because of the strength of his team and Paul George becoming the man.

Compare him with Avery Bradley...
Avery:
Age 23, height 6'2
*13.7 attempts per game @ 43% FG
*14.3 points per game
*1.4 assists, 4 rebounds,34% 3pt FG
30.6 mins per game
Lance:
Age 23, height 6'5
*11 attempts per game @ 49.7% FG
*14 points per game
*5 assists, 7 rebounds,34% from 3 point land
35 mins per game

Lance plays 5 more minutes per game, but his efficiency is much better, as are his passing skills and court vision. He's got the ability to play PG through SG to SF because of his versatility.
Give Lance 18 attempts a game and he should score at least 18 points. His size and length mean he can guard the 2 and 3 quite well and his passing is where he stands out as a 2 guard.
Like Avery, he's improved substantially each season and shows far more promise in the long run.

There's belief that he's got superstar potential...the kind of hope we had for Avery Bradley some time ago before his shoulders forced him out in 2012.
But yeah, I dunno what you're basing your analysis on.

Lance (unfortunately for us) isn't going anywhwere.

He and his family idolize Bird, and that loyalty will lead to a hometown discount.

But to answer the post, $10 mil per year/4 years.

Kid's a beast. He was a "man" at 19. 6'6", 225, leaper, 6'11' wingspan.

I disagree becuase I can't see how the Pacers can match a 12 million dollar offer from someone. They won't go into luxury territory and although he likes Larry Bird, he likes money more. He's not giving up 8 or 10 million over 4 years to play for Larry.

I think it's part of the reason they got Turner.
His QO will be 9 million so I think they expect Lance to get 12 or more.

How much money will the Celtics have for free agents?

I was not aware we could even offer 9-12 million.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

If the Celtics really love a free agent, they can sent picks to a team with cap space to absorb contracts and clear room to sign a free agent.

That, or they can just go for a simple sign-and-trade and absorb the salary via the Paul Pierce exception.

People seem to think Stephenson may get the max, so I doubt he can be signed to a contract that fits into the trade exception.

No official charges so all we have to go on is hearsay and mudslinging seems pretty similar to no official charges so all we have to go on is hearsay and mudslinging.

Especially when it's the NY Daily News. And the source is "a friend of the girlfriend's dad."
