I am glad we are seeing Kelly get some minutes this year. The guy may never be an all star PF but he could easily be a rotation level big playing 20+ mpg.

His rebounding looks about average and he is a good shooter that will improve. His defense is suspect now, but I tell myself he is just a rookie. I think his best asset is his passing.

He is definitely capable of shooting 40% from the 3pt line. He will also be an 80%+ FT shooter IMO. It will take a couple years to develop just like the rest of his game.

The problem is that there are only five guys on the court at any one time. Hard to see how we wouldn't ultimately want to upgrade his position.

There are clearly many big PFs and Centers that are better than he is, and who project TO BE BETTER.

In my opinion, the only way we don't have to upgrade on his position is for his 3Pfg% to radically improve. But consider what I am saying: Kelly Olynyk, with a 40% 3PFG% is the Celtics PF of the future. Agree? Disagree?
