Interesting.  I think he would be a really interesting pickup for the C's, who need shooting.  I don't think he can be as bad as Pressey.

I have a feeling Utah might make a run at him too.

I don't think the Celtics have enough wiggle room under the tax threshold to make a minimum level offer. But I could be wrong.

Jimmer was drafted too high and went to a terrible organization at the time but I am still not giving up on him. He needs a good situation where he will be asked to do what he does well -  shoot - and where a coach won't asked him to do too much or god forbid run the offense like SAC did his first year.

Guy can shoot and every team needs shooting. Put him on the Spurs and he is Steve Kerr 2.0. Guy who plays 20 minutes a game, knows his role and spreads the floor for you.

I'm surprised they were unable to trade him before the deadline.

If Sacto is willing to buy him out now, and basically eat his remaining salary, does that mean that no one was willing to trade a 2nd rounder or even cash for Jimmer before the deadline? Or was Sacto asking for too much in return?

It'd be real annoying if they can't even offer a rest-of-season contract. He's just the type of guy we'd over-pay.

He absolutely still has a place in this league as a shooter.

Curious what playoff team he'll join...

Freddette would fill the Eddie House role on a good team but I really think he is really pretty useless on a bad team. He needs a very defined role and the right players around him for him to be a great 3rd-4th option on offense(not as a starter, just whenever he is on the floor) for a team where he can get wide open for his shot.

On a bad team, I think he would just add to the confusion and poor play that is already happening there.

Not sure what Sacramento is thinking here. I'm baffled by some of the transactions lately. This guy has value to certain teams. I'd be perfectly happy for the C's to take a flier on him. We do need shot makers, big time!

I'd rather sign D league talent.

He's been available all season.  I would guess that other teams wanted Sacramento to take on a contract beyond this season.

Jimmer Fredette, Travis Outlaw, and a second-round pick was reportedly one of the offers for Andre Miller from Sacramento that Denver turned down.

If we can sign him to a vet min then why not give him a whirl. (He can't be any worse than Avery Bradley) Yup... I said it.

I'm at work, so I don't have my spreadsheet at work that tracks this, but we have a little under a million wiggle room.  If the C's actually want him, they can offer him more than the minimum, since they have most of the MLE left.  I'm not a huge Jimmer fan, but our team stinks, so it can't hurt.  It might even be a win-win -- if he's good, then we get a cheap pickup.  If he's not (and he may not be, considering he wasn't good enough for Sacramento), he'll help out tankfest a bit more.

If the Cs have the wiggle room I would love for them to grab him in a buy low move. If not I to see him join a team that will develop him and use him for what he is good at. The Bulls could be an interesting fit, Thibs could work to hide him on D,
