Among the players have played substantial minutes, Jeff Green ranks #173 in PER, so he would be 173 / 30 = 5.7 th most efficient player on an average team.

Decent game tonight in LA though.

Some people were comparing him to the scrub from ATL.

But I'd just like to say JG is thrust into a bigger role than the other guy. Defenses are geared against JG.

I haven't been the greatest fan of what he's been doing this season. But what can you do.

No, just like last game, Green didn't really have a good night. He got 11pts first 4 mins of the game... so for 28 more minutes he had only 10pts. He only grabbed 3rbs. 2 assists to 3 turns.

I'm not going to ask if you watched the game, that's rude. I just don't agree with you.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Were you referring to me?

Because I actually agree he's had a bad night.

Jeff Green's playing hide and seek again.

The "JG-as-one-of-our-leaders" experiment is a fail so far.

JG scores and plays defense. Tonight, he got burned by Marshon Brooks. And, as usual, his scoring is in spurts.

imo, if JG doesn't score, he needs to play some help defense. Get some blocks, grab a steal, force a play on D. But he hasn't this season. Which is disappointing.

He was playing against the wretched Lakers defense tonight, too.

But I was just saying, comparing JG with DeMarre Carroll (in another thread) was a bit extreme considering the circumstances. Put DeMarre Carroll in the position of Jeff Green and DeMarre will be a whole lot worse.

no, I wasn't. I didn't quote you because I was talking to the OP, who said he had a good game.

Gorman had a very good comment regarding Green last night. Simmons said Green's stats are actually very good on the road, not so good at home. Gorman said he thinks it reflects the pressure Green feels at home games to be "the guy" on the team, but on the road the pressure is much less. He thinks Green would work very well as a 3rd option, not well at all as a first or second option. I fully agree.

As for the 'disappearing acts', well, it helps when the guards pass the ball to him. Also, after his 11 point start, Stevens sat him out for far too long and let Gerald Wallace run rampant, but maybe Stevens was just doing his job driving the tank tonight.

Green will be a good 3rd option.. With a dominate SG and a rim protecting C, celtics will be in good shape

Im tired of hearing excuses for Green.  Either get him therapy for whatever his "issues" are or get him the heck off the team.

There could be some truth to that why he plays better on the road.  I personally just think he is plainly not good enough talent wise to be first or second option on a very good team.  Hint of how good the first and second options are on the contenders.  That will never be Green and I'm fine with it.

Great - another one of these threads (after a game in which he scores 21). The Celtics are bad and we knew this coming into the year. Most people are on board with tanking, but take every opportunity to point out Green's (and many other players, except Sullinger) faults and use him for one of the main reasons we are losing.

He is a very good player - third scorer on a top 4 seeded playoff team and 3-4th best overall player (and he is paid as such). People really need to find better ways to spend their time than to trash Jeff Green every other day for not consistently being Kevin Durant.

I'm thinking 4th option.  Get a scoring SG and a center with scoring ability and he'd probably do well.

Green will be a good 3rd option.. With a dominate SG and a rim protecting C, celtics will be in good shape

I hope so cuz stevens sub patterns are a bit odd. I don't understand how you sit your best scorer for such a stretch.

He's not good. He's average. He would have been great to have when PP/KG/Ray still had some prime years left. Could have maybe filled that gap the Posey left (and was never really replaced). If you're expecting him to be the top option on a team, you're gonna be a lottery team. Just like the Celtics are now.
