I try to strike a good balance of pragmatism and fatalism about the team, so I saw the possible advantages of trading Rondo, and knew that even if I didn't, there's nothing I could do about it anyway.
But I'm finding myself really happy that Rondo will be staying in green for at least the next few months. He's the only link remaining to the last ring, and on a team with a long history of being led by career-long Celtics, the only guy left who's distinctly OURS as a star.
It's nice to know that no matter what else happens, we'll hang on to our one huge constant through a season defined by change. Our time watching Rajon dishing out ridiculous dimes and dropping in impossibly angled layups, and yes, arguing incessantly about him here, is going to last at least a little while longer. Welcome "back" Rondo, although you never really left.
