Rumor mill is incredibly quiet

I don't remember the last time the NBA rumor mill has been this quiet for so long, especially so close to the deadline.

What I have been able to find is that teams are struggling to find trade partners. Not sure if all this silence is teams playing this deadline closer to the vest and some big trades will still or happen, or if it really means no big trades will happen.

I'm not sure what qualifies as talk? Dolan talking out loud to himself and someone passing it off as a real possibility? After the Omer Asik craze seems like its pretty quiet to me.

I honestly think one can better forecast NBA trades going off their own common sense from an outsider's perspective, rather than lean on blurbs from NBA insiders.

Why can't the thunder just move Jeremy Lamb, Reggie Jackson, and Kendrick Perkins for Brandon Jennings and Greg Monroe like I want them to??

Thoughts Danny Ainge thinks he can trade Gerald Wallace for a hobo on the street if salaries match up. Than he can trade Brandon Bass for a Hot Dog vendor and a first round pick. Than he dump Kris Humphries for all the Kardashians.

It'll slowly gain steam tomorrow and ramp up Tuesday-Thursday.

I think the All-Star game (weekend) is the focus the NBA wants the masses interested in  while it goes on. Almost like a moratorium on rumors so as not to take the spotlight away.

Funny, it had quite the opposite effect for me. Except for Sully and Klynik Friday night, it kinda sucked.

Find the rumors a lot more interesting.

I think the NBA really screwed the pooch with the East/West team concept. I think they lost sight of what the all-star weekend is about, which is individual accolades, especially in the skill challenges. The 3pt contest's greatest moment? Larry Bird, crowing about himself like the worst 'glory boy' America could imagine. The dunk contests greatest moments, all when an elite athlete shined gloriously at the height of his powers. The NBA subdued that by tying it to conference.

Because they like being a good team.

Why would the Thunder be a worse team? They'd gain one of the best passing big men in the league in Monroe, and a guy who does pretty well at defending 5s, who is at least as good a rebounder as Perkins, and a much better scorer by an expodential degree. If Russell Westbrook comes back after the break, Jackson's role diminishes, and Brandon Jennings would eat second units alive.
