LeBron James said that when he retires, he should be one of 4 players on a NBA Mt. Rushmore..He said he would have Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Oscar Roberston...Question is, who would u have? Pick only 4 now!!
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Russell, Jordan, Kareem, Bird

I wouldn't argue if you put Magic over Bird though. The other three I think are locked in.

Only four?

Robertson, Jordan, Russell, Kareem.

But that's an arbitrary limit - LeBron actually said that you'd need to make space for a fifth head, not that he should be one of the four.

I may have Magic over Bird but yeah I totally agree with your reasoning.  If Kareem and Russell aren't on it you are seriously messing it up.

Kareem deserves more respect than he gets, I think.

if there's one place where it's ok to disrespect Kareem as a player, I think it's a Celtics forum.

Stern, Jordan, Auerbach, and a spliced face of Bird/Magic.

I would agree with this list.  For all of you youngsters out there, Wilt Chamberlain has 72 NBA records, 68 of which he holds by himself.

Ha maybe it's expected.  But I don't underestimate how dominant of a player he was.  6 MVPs, 6 titles, led the league in scoring twice.  So consistent for so long too.

I think he's a lock.  But may not be on some lists in here.

He's on my list, too.

Personally, I think the Big O is the one getting snubbed in this thread so far.

For what it's worth, that's the list that Greenie threw out on Mike and Mike today morning, and it seems to me it would be hard to take anyone off of it. Magic, Bird, Kareem, and Shaq are all great players, but neither of them exhibited the type of dominance Robertson and Chamberlain did.

The most eye-popping stat of Wilt Chamberlain, by the way, is that he once played every single minute of every single game for an entire season, averaging 48.5 mpg.
