Jeff and Avery: which would you like to see stay

I am going with Jeff Green. He has more talent. He isn't as injury prone. I'd rather have a guy who is pretty good at everything, over the guy who is only good at defending, and does so from a size disadvantage.

I think green would be really good as a 4th best player on a contender. He could be a glue guy at that point. Play defense, score with his slashing, post game and 3 point range.

Bradley doesn't belong in the starting lineup on a contender. He is best suited as a defensive specialist on the bench, hitting some mid range shots, and doing so in limited minutes - under 25 a night.

I believe Jeff Green can win us, maybe about 10-15 out of 82 games on his own and can be solid all around on the rest.

I think Green can also be part of a championship team, as the third guy and can be relied to carry the load on offense on some nights in case of injuries and/or off nights from whoever stars we get.

And he's durable.

How much better a defender is Avery Bradley over Jeff green?

As long as Bradley is playing limited minutes (and can keep up the energy), he is fantastic as a full court presser on the ball.

But once we get into the half court, just how much better is Bradley as a defender over green?

I cant think of the last time Bradley locked a scorer up, and shut him down. He has just looked ok to me in the games i have seen (unless he is pressing full court, and i haven't seen that in a while).

its a good point...jeff green is a very good defender, bradley playing full time is a very good defender but not as much as force as limited minutes

AB was told not to spend too much energy on pressing. So now he picks the moments he locks someone. But even with that, he still misses layups.

neither- they're not championship material.

  Either one is good enough to be a starter on a championship team, just not one of the best players.

  I don't think there's any reason to make this decision. The deciding factor should be whether you can get a top level SG or a top level SF.

If it wasn't for Avery's upcoming free agency, I'd agree. But as I said before, I don't think Danny will want to commit a lot of money to Avery with Jeff still being owed over $16m. If his goal is really the 2015 offseason, having Avery and Jeff making starter's money doesn't seem smart. You can wait see what happens this off-season with the draft, but you risk Avery getting a big contract offer inrestricted free agency. Whether or not you match the offer or try to work a sign & trade, you're limiting your options.

  I'm not convinced AB will get a big contract, especially as a RFA.

Green is more of a starter than AB.

Both are complementary players. Each can have big games, streaks, or series. Either could. E upgraded since neither are all stars or anything.

AB still best off the bench but will be paid like a starter.

Avery will be gone only because he wants more than 7 mil a year which DA and the rest of the world knows that is way overpriced...however some team will eventually pay it...remember it only takes one team to believe hes worth it

I don't see why we trade away a piece like Jeff Green.  He's a perfect 3 man & still only 27.  You build around Rondo, Green, & Sullinger....add to those types of players.

We're a strong 2 guard and a big man away from being a fine playoff team.  We have more than enough picks + assets to add the missing pieces needed, bench included.

If someone gives us some outrageous deal for Green, sure, take it.  It would have to be a player and a top 15 pick though for me to jump on it.  At least.

I do remember something along this line, stevens wanted bradley to concentrate on being a more complete player and not go full psycho on defense all the time.

Jeff Green.  He is solid at everything.  Not a superstar but when is the last time you have seen Green miss rotations or not play good D. He can guard multiple positions and is solid on d, a little inconsistent on offense (not defense though) but even his off offensive nights are not something that really hurt the team, he just does not step up as much. Once we get a true #1 alpha player on our team, Jeff is a great guy to have. Bradley is nice too but not for the amount of money he is looking for.
