Boston Out: Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley
Boston in: Gordon Hayward, A, beidrans, Utah 2014 1st round pick
(Works in trade machine)

Why for the Celtics? Stevens coached Heyward and hopefully that will get him to sign longterm. Celtics get another 1st round lottery pick and from a talent perspective remain just as bad short term but will get better long term with another lottery pick. Celtics also move over a million under salary cap. Jazz are in brutal western conference and will find it difficult to ever make it out of the mid lottery.

Why for Jazz? They get a big name marketable player in Rondo in a franchise that hasn't had that since Deron Williams. Avery Bradley and Rondo will have continuity with each other and do well in the Jazz system. Rondo will help the development of Kanter and Favors.

So we have Pressey running the point full time for the remainder of the season?

That's bold.

Yeah at least try and grab Trey Burke in the deal.  It'd be more likely than Utah including this year's 1st.

Bradley for Hayward might not be that far from equal value and wherever their draft pick is it would get worse after the trade. Most of the "Why for" the other team explanations of these Rondo trades are about the other team getting the star or big name player they're desperately searching for. Danny likes to have players like that as well.

Bayless can take some of the load off and we could sign someone like the Lakers did ala Kendall Marshall.

Also I forgot to mention that the Jazz would still be over 10mil under the cap, so they could get a guy like Danny Granger in free agency.

(1) Rondo, Burks
(2)Bradley, Rush
(3) Granger, Evans
(4)  Favors
(5) Kanter

That would be a pretty good team.

If we're getting anyone back from the Jazz, I think it should be Alec Burks... who isn't even on your depth chart?

heck no!

No reason to move Rondo or Bradley (ever) but if they are moved then no reason to move them until the offseason.

No chance Utah agrees to this before the lottery. It'd have to wait until then.

At which point the deal is impossible, since Hayward cannot be traded.

They'd probably agree to it, they'd just put protections on the pick.

Which would totally defeat the purpose of getting the pick in the first place.
