The top 5 picks in a "do over":

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo
2. Michael Carter-Williams
3. Nerlens Noel
4. Victor Oladipo
5. Tim Hardaway Jr.

The Celtics selection:

13.  C.J. McCollum (if they traded up)

The article doesn't see KO getting picked in the top-14.

I'm a big fan of Giannis, but I have a hard time seeing him go #1.  In a do-over, though, I think the Cavs have to take Oladipo or Noel.

It's a pretty sad draft when, halfway through the season, the player they think should have been drafted first is averaging 7 ppg.

And the player they think should have been drafted third, has not played a minute.  This class has been so bad, he moved up 3 spots without lacing up his shoes once.

KO's absence in this re-draft only goes to show that he is starting to be exposed as the inefficient, poor defense, lack of upside player that he is.

Yeah players like Noel, Len, Bennett, McCollum and Porter have yet to play or play big minutes and still other players like AAdams, KCP and McLemore chosen before him have yet to play well or have great numbers but they all have something Olynyk doesn't have, potential to get a lot better.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I've become more of a fan of Giannis than I was at the draft, but this is a useless exercise now I think. Noel hasn't played a minute, and Len has barely played, those two along with Giannis are probably the highest upside guys in the draft. And none of those guys are close to where they have the potential to be. The best big of the draft has probably been Steven Adams. Oladipo has played major minutes out of position. Hardaway has been a legit surprise.

Even at the end of the season , because of the long-term nature of the highest upside guys, we probably still won't really know who the 'best' player in the draft is.

Weird class. I still don't think it's as abysmally bad as it's made out to be, but it's not doing it's rep any favors.

oh whatever. Olynyk will be fine.

He will come in next year at 255 vs 240 this year. Then in year 3 will be at 265.  Olynyk might lack great wingspan or leap for his height, but he is co ordinated ,has decent reach and has a nice motor. Once he gets stronger and able to clear some space he will be good

Potential is so over-rated.  Potential without Brains and character will amount to a waste of talent.

One thing we know about KO is that he is willing to put the work.  I have no doubt KO will get better.  Would like to see him get consistently over 30mins/gm.   Also, I would him to get a haircut.

Pretty silly to throw out scoring stats on a 19 year old starting in the NBA and call it a day. Watch him play and the potential is obvious.

Funny how the "can't miss savior" is shooting less than 40% in the ACC play and has a turnover to assist ratio of 3 to 1. Yet Parker gets a pass on crappy stats?

Not sure about Nerlens post injury, but pre-injury he would go in the top three in this so called banner draft too. Off the charts shot blocker and defensive presence. Yes, better in that regard than Davis and Embiid. His offense will come and he runs the floor, handles the ball well and does not foul, even while dominating a game defensively.

Oh and anyone calling him skinny or frail is clueless. The guy is jacked in a KG sort of way. If his knee is right, he will be a force and a stupid trade for NO.

Seems like somebody just wanted to get attention by saying something controversial.

The only thing really impressive so far about Giannis is his physical measurements.
