I actually think if we could sign him, Bosh/Sullinger would mesh pretty well because bosh can stay out closer to the perimeter, and sullinger more in the paint.

I was just thinking that. Bosh is underrated (while not a superstar, he still an above average all-star). He can step up when needed. Whenever James or Wade is out, he steps up. He can turn on his defense.

Just weird seeing Bosh 6'10" at PF and Sully who is shorter at center.

Rondo/Bradley/Hopefully Parker or Wiggins/Bosh/Sully

that sounds like a good team
We had 6' 13" KG at PF and 6' 9" Glen Davis. And Davis was a shorter 6' 9" than Sully to my eyes.

KG is 6'13"??? Sorry I gotta do it :-p

haha yea I remember, thanks for correcting me, you're right. Though I also agree, Bosh can play perimeter and Sully can bully his way in.

Though I still think he'd be stupid to leave Miami if they can win another ring this year...

http://caldeford.blogspot.com/2009/09/bosh-vs-garnett-player-comparison.html?m=1

Raptors Bosh was a force in this league akin to pre prime KG. I remember reading the above article (or one similar) years ago and found the stat comparisons are surprisingly similar between two players with such wildly different on court demeanors.

Comparing points and rebounds per game is superficial and ignores significant differences in defensive ability.

Flip Saunders and Kevin McHale both would joke back in their Minnesota days that KG was 6' 13" because he didn't want to be listed as a seven footer.

really? i actually never knew that! You learn something new everyday haha

I remember KG once pulled Craig Sager aside and said "I'm 6'11" and 1/2, stop calling me a 7 footer!"

(1) No - I don't think Bosh would join the Celtics. Not without Boston making another big move first. I think Bosh would need to be sure the team he is joining is a title contender which Boston clearly are not currently.

(2) Sully + Bosh would be a really good combo. I think most teams would stick their center on Sully and their PF on Bosh to neutralize Sully's strength in the paint and Bosh's quickness on his face up game. So not a perfect combo. A quicker PF like Josh Smith would be better.

I would be very surprised if Bosh left Miami. He values winning very highly and was sick of being the man without enough help up in Toronto. I think it would be very hard for another team to make Bosh an attractive enough offer for him to leave Miami.

Bosh has been willing to give up money in the past and I think he would do so again on his next contract. I think Bosh is much happier being in a winning situation making very good money than being on a middling team making great money.

Boston has no way to sign Bosh without a trade with Miami and I don't see the point in Miami taking on players like Bass (even with draft picks).  Now if Boston were to add players like Sullinger to the trade, Miami might be more inclined if Bosh was going to leave anyway.

It should be easy for the Celtics to get a team with cap space to accept Bass and Joel Anthony in a salary dump for a pick (or maybe the 2015 Clippers pick and the protected Philly pick).

Assuming no other roster changes, that would leave the Celtics with about $20 million to re-sign Bradley, sign draft picks, and use on free agents. That's if the cap doesn't go up, and I think it is expected to.  If the Celtics are willing to cut Pressey's unguaranteed contract and move Faverani, whose contract can be treated as expiring, since its final season is unguaranteed, there might be $24m to split between Bradley, a free agent like Bosh, and a first-round pick.  At that point, either spending picks to dump Wallace or renouncing Bradley (if not working out a sign-and-trade, since James and Wade can handle the ball while Bradley plays defense and open jumpers) would work.  Trading Olynyk for a future first might also be an option if you want to keep Bradley.

You could then have a roster of Bosh, Sullinger, Green, Rondo, either Wallace or Bradley, Olynyk, a first-round pick, a player or two signed with the MLE, and someone acquired with the Nets trade exception for a draft pick or two.  Depending on how it works out, you might not have to renounce Jerryd Bayless and might want to bring him back.  Then you fill out the roster with Chris Johnson-type D-League players, veterans who are willing to play for the minimum, and maybe Colton Iverson is NBA-ready.

That may or may not be a contending team, but it could arguably be a player away from contending without that player being an All-Star.

What about free up money with the rumored Green/Wallace trade, sign Bosh, S&T for Hayward, draft Parker...?

Rondo
Hayward
Parker
Sully
Bosh

Wade is spoiled and uncoachable to 99 % of teams .    He won't listen. Period ....... Does what he wants or listens to,Riley and James .

He is worthless to most organizations .......total diva .   Spo is his servant and whipping boy ......Riley runs the team .

They would be dump to keep him and his salary. As his knees are worn and his game is mostly athletic dominance ......slinging his body into the air around the rim .

Heat should dump wade period and keep Bosh and add another good star .

very slowly Miami is turning into the Celtics big 3 of the ending years... they still are a powerhouse but i gurantee they will not get passed Indiana... Wade is deteriorating by the minute and Bosh is a past of himself that was slightly overrated to begin with...

This team needs to build young and healthy by next year Miami will decline even more.. If Lebron is still there by then they will still compete but they will never win another championship with this squad..

That is a team more built for the future than the right here right now.

I think Hayward is a very good player but I believe his reputation is somewhat similar to a Jeff Green. A 3rd option type of character.

Sully is still a young guy. 13 points and 8 rebounds per game. Good but again not dominant.

Parker is a very good prospect but he is still a rookie and stars at their peak like Bosh almost never go to a team in Free Agency to play with a rookie / unproven player instead of established stars.

It's a team with strong future potential but not much of a draw for right here right now. More like a mid-seed playoff team than a title contender.

Rondo is the only real star there. The rest unproven.

Need more established talent. Genuine All-Stars. Preferably another All-NBA guy. To show the team is truly ready to win (right now). Rondo + top 20 player + Bosh + (some combo of Green, Sully, Bradley, #1 pick) would make an attractive proposition.

Bosh will be 30 next year, but he's only playing 31 min a game this season.  He should be above average for the next 3 seasons or so, then will probably sharply decline.  I would like him at the 4 if we drafted Embiid, since it would be less of a toll on his body.  Rondo/Bosh/Embiid would be an interesting core.

I suppose he'd mesh well with Wiggins or Parker too, but I really think we would also have to move for M. Gasol or Asik if we got him so he wouldn't have to guard centers anymore.  I doubt we have the pieces to do both moves.

I don't think either Bosh or Smith is a good pairing with Sully. He needs a big, athletic, defensive center--like Embiid.  ;D
