  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
1)Would Bosh sign with the Celtics this offseason?
2)How well would Bosh and Sully mesh as a contending front line? I think they'd handle Hibbert and West.
Bosh at center like his Toronto franchise player days. Sully at PF. Both stretching the floor with Bosh as the rim protector.

3)What free agents/disgruntled stars would go well with a top 5 pick and Rondo/Bosh/Sully?

I'd like Lance Stephenson but we'd have to move Green.

Thoughts ?

'Chad Ford is skeptical of whether the Big 3 of the Miami Heat will remain on the roster heading into the 14-15 season.

"Doubt it," wrote Ford about LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade all remaining with the Heat beyond the current season. "But I'm not sure it will be LeBron that leaves. From what I can gather talking to teams and agents around the league, it's Chris Bosh who is the most likely to leave. LeBron and Wade are so good, I think we all forget what a force Bosh can be. Lots of teams would give him the max and feature him in ways Miami can't. LeBron might leave, but I think the odds are in Miami's favor."

Bosh was previously the franchise player of the Toronto Raptors.'

Via Chad Ford/ESPN
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

http://caldeford.blogspot.com/2009/09/bosh-vs-garnett-player-comparison.html?m=1

Raptors Bosh was a force in this league akin to pre prime KG. I remember reading the above article (or one similar) years ago and found the stat comparisons are surprisingly similar between two players with such wildly different on court demeanors.

At first thought I dismissed the notion of Bosh in green but the more I think about it we may actually have a chance for the following reasons...

-Rondo (assuming he stays) has proven to be a devastatingly effective player when paired with a pick and pop, defensive PF/C. I know I miss the dribble to the elbow quick behind the back drop pass to KG. It was good for at least 3 buckets a game.

-Though he left for the Miami sunshine Bosh has proven that he can play in a cold city.

-He's reaching the age where its time to start thinking of his legacy. Does he really want to be remembered as a "role player".

-Cap Space, a multitude of quality picks, proven effective management,  one of the best fan bases in the league.

-Even keel coach that would utilize his strengths.

Sign me up, Chris Bosh would be the biggest free agency coup in Boston history. With the bright future we have set up we've never had a better shot at grabbing an all star.

Bosh is getting older and softer through the years... it would be a waste throwing a max or big money contrct at him... again the celtics have never been big free agent players... DA assembles assets and trades will be made..

Boston has no way to sign Bosh without a trade with Miami and I don't see the point in Miami taking on players like Bass (even with draft picks).  Now if Boston were to add players like Sullinger to the trade, Miami might be more inclined if Bosh was going to leave anyway.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

There is no way DA trades his best asset for Bosh.. Love or Aldridge yea

That was kind of my point.  And I think that is only the case because of Bosh' age (at least with KL), but I'd rather have Bosh and Aldridge and they are only a year apart in age.  I think people forget just how good Bosh was when he wasn't the third option (and let's not kid ourselves KL and LA would both be third options in Miami as well).

Im not sure nor do I want to take the time to figure out right now the logistics of trying to get Bosh but I would be all for it.

Figuring Green would have to be gone to clear the $$$$ and the Cs get lucky and land Parker. A lineup of Rondo, AB, Parker, Sully and Bosh would be very formidable. The scoring of Parker and Bosh would allow AB and Sully to go back to doing what they do best. AB could focus on D and his shots would go down. Sully who take less low percentage shots and have to really focus on the boards. I think this group with even a bench of Wallace, Kelly and Bayless would be good enough for 3rd or 4th in the east next season. They would also have a ton of room to potentially grow with Parker, Sully and AB still so young.

If this is true , Bosh will be a Laker ,  Irving , Love .....that's a good start for them .   When Gasol and Kobe leave.

Then they will take Davis from the Pelican, and steal Clay Tompson and there you have it .....another pre made team of stars

Part of their  "open door " come on in policy to all current stars

At least six stars will walk right in and Fakers never have to draft and develop even one player.

Irving and Love I could believe would go to Lakers.  I think Bosh would want to go somewhere where he'd be a PF again and Love would prevent that.  Not sure Bosh would sign on for another run of being the 3rd wheel on a contender.  If he leaves Miami, I think he's looking to boost his stock in the eyes of others as good enough to at least be the 2nd best player on a champ or better yet, player 1A or 1B on that type of team.

I actually think if we could sign him, Bosh/Sullinger would mesh pretty well because bosh can stay out closer to the perimeter, and sullinger more in the paint.

Yet another example of why you can't just look at stats for players and make meaningful comparisons.

Yeah that Bosh/KG comparison fell apart when Bosh shrunk on the boards when not paired with Andrea Bargnani. Let along looking at their team rebounding impact.

I was just thinking that. Bosh is underrated (while not a superstar, he still an above average all-star). He can step up when needed. Whenever James or Wade is out, he steps up. He can turn on his defense.

Just weird seeing Bosh 6'10" at PF and Sully who is shorter at center.

Rondo/Bradley/Hopefully Parker or Wiggins/Bosh/Sully

that sounds like a good team

We had 6' 13" KG at PF and 6' 9" Glen Davis. And Davis was a shorter 6' 9" than Sully to my eyes.
